So I'm assuming 99% of owners are running 285's with stock gears. In that example, how does the truck respond to going up small to moderate inclines at highway speeds? Does it constantly downshift to make it up the hills? I've noticed my truck downshifting while going up hills with the stock 265's, so I can only assume 285's only make that situation 'worse'.

Once again, I definitely appreciate the feedback from owners with these 285-sized tires.

The 5th gear on our trucks is mighty tall, and I find myself downshifting a lot in the hills, even with stock tires. In 4th it'll pull a 4000lb camper up some pretty steep hills with little trouble at 55-60 mph though, so in the hills I tend to leave it in 4th most of the time. If you want to pass on the incline you'll obviously have to rev it up in third.
