I have questions maybe someone can answer since there seems to be a few members in this thread... I've done massive searches and just can't find the answers.

Does anyone know when the TRD Pro will be available?

Any pics of the TRD Pro?

Why don't they make a Silver TRD Pro?

What's the best 4Runner for me if I don't get a TRD Pro (MUST have a V8 of course)?

Best pricing?

Will my German Shorthair be ok with a 4Runner??

1-Right after the supercharger release.

2-Check out the supercharger thread.

3-It would clash with the supercharger.

4-4th Gens are perfect already. Everybody knows that.

5-Steal one from your neighbor.

6-Ask Sgt. Shultz...


 
Out of curiosity, [MENTION=116297]BigOlTater[/MENTION], why not an AWD Highlander for your wife instead of the 4Runner? It sound s like that would have been a better option, or even a GX460 as I would assume your wife isn't using the 4Runner for serious off-roading.

I am mixed on Power Rear Hatches because they are slow and prone to breaking. It only takes a few times of someone trying to force the door to work faster to damage things, not to mention that even though some of them have cancel switches it still makes me nervous; you can hear the door working against the power mechanism when you're working it by hand. Did I mention most of them are damn slow also? Not to mention usually to use them you have to hold the button to get it to work (which if I am needing a power lift gate, its because my hands are full and if I am putting the stuff down to use my key fob I'll just open the door manually.)

Now the Ford Set-up with foot activation is actually kind of cool in concept, but even then I not too impressed with power rear lift gates.
 
Okay, this is exactly why the rest of the world hates us. A guy buys a $40K+ vehicle and then complains that it doesn't warm his a$$ quick enough or that, although it automatically unlocks and opens his tailgate, he actually has to grab it and exert a few pounds of force to make it open. Yikes!!! Is this thread for real??

This is our 3rd T4R the past 15 years, I've owned many other SUV's with a power lift gates and it's one of those things you really get used to, was a deal breaker, no, if it was I wouldn't have purchased. Just my opinion but I would guess most buyers will not take their runners off roading, just as jeep wrangler, land rovers, land cruisers buyers,etc. The highlander is not very pretty, kinda looks like a KiA/hundai type design. Like anything from power windows, moon roofs, switches, buttons, etc, everything is prone to breaking at one point. All im saying is for a 40K+ SUV that says LIMITED on the side, should have most if not all creature comforts found in lesser quality SUV's and mini vans. DON'T get me started on why remote start isn't standard on the limited!! Lol. I think people read into my initial post and thought I had buyers remorse and did not due my due diligence, I knew exactly what I was buying and like any vehicle there will be some boxes that won't be checked. I love the Limited, I have no intention on taking it wheelin, I have 2007 Rubicon for that:)

Dude! ! I couldn't have said it better myself, but explain why the rest of the world hates us comment?
 
Now I'm really confused. If you've owned 3 T4Rs, why on earth would you expect the feature set of a luxury brand? It's simply not marketed that way, and Toyota has never positioned it that way.

If that's your thing (or your wife's), there are a boatload of 'nancy' SUVs that do that. Was she with when you looked at the truck, or consulted? I kind of get the impression that you might be gettimg crap for making an under-informed decision for her? Maybe?...

Idea: For her next birthday get her some rock sliders , a case of beer, and vanity plates that say your name. That should help. :)

The majority of the world would just like a stable electrical grid and clean water. You want a powered lift gate and had to vent because you didn't get it. That's the reason the rest of the world hates us.

Dude, then why you want throw in HiD's in your TEP? "It's simply not marketed that way", and Toyota has never positioned it that way" we all want something more than they are giving us, don't be that guy bra.
 
Every new T4R generation comes with more new bells and whistles,
but always less than Lexus.
And I believe, most of us on the forum buying them, no matter what minor toys are available. From 1st to 5th generation they where built as strong and reliable on frame truck for MAN !
That’s why I never considered buying one for my wife – she has no balls. Period.

HIDs IMO are a bit more practical than a lift gate that closes itself. And you don't hear me complaining...
 
and that power gate when its -20F + outside, that motor doesn't move to dam quick after you finish loading groceries.

it takes all of 1-2 seconds to close that manual and I don't have to worry about hurting that motor.

its bad enough those struts die after a few years in our winters.
 
The powered lift gate is a non issue for me. I don't care one way or the other.
I DO wish there was a kind of ala carte menu for these rigs though.
If I want a truck with CRAWL control and the multi terrain select then I'd better be willing to let my a$$ get hot in the sun because ventilated seats are not allowed. Likewise if I want real leather and a nice cool derrière, then I'd better be willing to be in 4wd always and forever.
That sucks.
Why can't we have a trail with a limited interior?
Is that asking for the world?

Yes... at this price point.

If you want CRAWL control and multi terrain select and don't want hot leather, then don't get a TE premium and the cloth seats should do the trick.
