New 3000k Fogs and 7000k Headlights from eBay (pics)

I'm planning on switching to HID's in the future but wasn't sure what temp to get. I decided to buy some of those "HID" halogen bulbs off eBay to try out the look. I got the "3000k" fogs which came in today and the "7000k" headlights which are still on the way.

I already like the look of the fogs a lot but am unsure whether i'll switch those to HIDs due to the reflective housing, halogens may be just fine.

For the Headlights, i got 7000k ones because I'm deciding between 4300k and 6000k HIDs when I get around to doing the swap. Why 7000k then? Well, if they're a little too blue, I'll go with 6000k, if very too blue 4300k. In the meantime, I kinda wanted to see what nearly 8000k might look like, though I doubt I'll get those.

Your stock fogs are very yellow. I can barely tell a difference between the stock and aftermarket fogs.

IMO the halogen temperature colors vary from the HID colors, I bought 8000k halogens which were less blue than the 6000k HID's I have in now. They may vary by company as well. Just from experience and comparing my lights over the years with my friends, the 6000k's I have in now from GotXenonHID are even bluer than my friends 10000k from another aftermarket company :/

I guess...luck of the draw???!

LMAO JDM YO! The fanboy scene really made JDM a house hold name. Every thing now is JDM. I miss the early to mid 90's when all us West Coast boys would get clean parts from Japan. We never sported any JDM stickers or "FAKE" JDM parts. O how things have changed.

I agree, I don't like the trend of calling everything JDM.

My stock fogs do look pretty yellow in the daytime pic but believe me, there is a big difference.

I love the look and am ready to do HIDs soon, now it's a decision between 6000k and 4300k. Still undecided if I'll do anything with the fogs in terms of HIDs or possibly PIAA bulbs but so far I like these cheapos just fine.

My fogs on my '08 are Hella Optilux Extreme Yellow (XY) and I believe they're 2500K. They're much better than the stock ~3500k? lamps I had when the weather gets downright dark and miserable.

I had also replaced the OE headlight bulbs with Hoen 5000K but I lost too much useable light. I settled on the Silverstar Ultras at 4100K. Works for me.
