So according to them, retail dealer value is a little over $18k, this is retailing for just under $16k. How much is it REALLY worth? How do you rate the features, mileage, etc?

According to carfax, 1 owner as a corporate fleet lease vehicle.

that's a clean looking runner! and loaded too! mileage is pretty average (~15k / year)

Could probably talk the dealer down a bit, go for it! you won't be disappointed

Where did you see 2WD? I was under the impression all V8's were AWD

There is no dash dial to shitch from Hi 4wd to Low 4wd. It should be under the rear window up/down.

V8s are available 2wd.

Not that I'm questioning your awesome negotiation skills, but you actually think I can get a 2004 loaded V8, even though it's only 2WD (I don't need 4WD) for $14k out the door when private party is 2.5 grand more, and retail is 4 grand more?

Yes. SUV's are moving worse than small cars and even those sales are down. Dealers are desperate to move vehicles. I just paid $28,500 for a leftover '08 that stickered at $36,000 +, MSRP.

Yes I do.....
In Sept, I paid $15k including tax, title, liscence, registration out the door. This was for a 1 owner 04 V8 Sport, 4wd, 60k, oil changes every 3500 or less, no accident, great conditon.

All they can say is no.

It's REALLY worth whatever they will sell it to you for. This is a buyers market, we can demand anything we want and at the least the salesman won't laugh at us. Try 13k and be serious about not going over that. No one is buying cars right now and it will look good for that salesman if he can get just the one off the lot. In August (at the height of the gas prices) I bought an '04 Limited 4WD V8 w/ nav for 14k. The lot was full of traded in gas guzzlers and they needed room for all the 09's coming in so I got them down from 18k.
