New 4Runner Question(s)

Hi Guys,

Soon I will be on the hunt for a new 2015 4Runner premium TE. This will be my 4th 4Runner (currently drive a 2001 Limited Edition).

1st, what is a good price for this time of the year?

2nd, what is the status with the ongoing shimmy/vibrations issue with 4Runner front-ends? Has this long term issue be rectified?

1) Can't help with this one as I bought mine in Canada

2) My all stock '15 TEP w/ KDSS & BFG KO2s, steering wheel shakes at highway speeds.. Honestly not sure if its the tires or alignment issue as I never drove it with the stock ones. Will get an alignment done after my shock upgrade and see if that helps.

1. Check the current OTD price thread.
2. My 2015 TEP w/ KDSS does not have any unusual steering wheel shake that I would consider is worth talking about. It is a big, trail ready, SUV though. Also only has 55 miles.

My 15 trd pro was pulling to the right and had a slight vibration at highway speeds. I took it to the dealer yesterday and they fixed it, they did a road force balance and all 4 wheels alignment, now it drives really good and the vibration is gone.

If this is your 4th 4Runner and you always keep them as long as the 2001 you have now, I'd guess you're around 84 years old now. Better get the Limited with auto running boards and a step stool to get in. :cheers:

As for price, there are several dealers here in SoCal willing to sell at invoice or invoice +$500. Would seem reasonable that you'd be able to find a similar deal out in Atlanta- good luck!

I have a '15 Trail non-premium/non-KDSS. I've never had an issue with shimmy or vibration, with either the stock tires or the Firestone Destination ATs I recently installed.

No shimmy in either of the 5th gens I've owned...

Just bought my 2015 TE w/KDSS. Mine pulled hard right and had vibrations at 55+ mph. All the dealer had to do was balance tires and realignment and boom its fine.

I'm evaluating to see if it gets better or worse. My car feels like its dipping in the front right corner but it may be me since my last car sat 3" off the ground.

I paid 35 not including trade in and cash added.

Only shimmy/pull issues I've experienced with my '14 TEP w/KDSS have all been tire balance or alignment issues.

Mar 2014 price was $40k included remote start, and crossbars.
