ummm.... The fitting on the test T4R is not great. It looks higher on the Passenger side and looks like it is pushing the Pass. fender flair out of place. Take this as constructive criticizism.
Bumber looks great though. I like the higher hoop except if I need to work under the hood..

To me it looks like that 4runner was involved in some sort of accident, maybe the fender is pushed down or something?

I am guessing you are refering to the 4Runner in the picture? If so that is my 4Runner. The bumper fits just fine! The bumper can be adjusted a bit when installed due to the size of the holes on the mounting plate.

Just 4 bolts hold that on per side or does it utilize the bolt holes on the bottom of the frame rail as well?

i want to see a different turn signal light that doesn't look like it's off a 70's dodge and some sort for cover/lens for the led fog's, the square block looks ugly, the bumper is sick as all get out, it's just the aesthetics that are a bit lacking imo and really that's only due to the lights used in the photo's above, the user who used his own lights looks much better, but he's still stuck with that ugly bulbous, oversized grommet looks like an after though turn signal...i know it's not and lke i said this is one of my fav bumpers so far and considering who it's coming from i'd definitely send people your way over shrockworks just due to lead times alone , to me lead time and customer service are pretty closely tied if not one and the same all together.
keep up the good work, and i'll probably buy one off you guys in the next year or so once i get my suspension setup and can find someone to buy my arb, i wish you guys would have been into production when i bought mine! :biggrin2:

It uses 5 bolts on each side. The 3 factory bolts on the front of the frame and the 2 factory bolts on the side of the frame. Stock bumper doesn't bolt to the bottom of the frame. I don't recall seeing any holes on the bottom of the frame.

You may be able to opt out of the turn signal lights. You will have to ask Adam at 4xinnovations. I do know the square LED lights are an option and I chose to go a more inexpensive route with the fog lights I chose.

Soon hopefully. Just got some ball park quotes today for powder coating. I am thinking about a grey or silver that would be close to the body paint. I think it would look good a little darker then the vehicle paint. If I don't powder coat then I might have a friend of a friend do a "professional" paint job with a spray gun.

One thing I'm noticing about this bumper is that it seems to be designed specifically for the 3rd Gens with the "Fat Lip" bumper. The 99-02's. The earlier bumpers/frames do not have the 3 mounting bolts at the front of the frame rail, so if installed on a 96-98 model, the only mounting points would be the two bolts on either side of the frame rails where the stock bumper attaches. The 3 bolts up front, along with the visible plate w/the 3 bolts, would go un-used.
It seems to me like that would result in a bumper that would be only marginally stronger/more impact resistant than the stock bumper.

That's a REALLY REALLY good observation and definitely a concern considering I'm thinking about getting one of these bumpers... That would compromise the strength of this bumper overall I would think. More info on this would be great guys. Also, Any pics with driving lights in the center cutouts? I'd like to see how flush they fit in there.

Center cut outs are for accessing your winch, not for lights. The "interior" holes on the wings are for lights. Is that what your looking for pics of?
Will have to let Adam at 4xinnovations comment on the mounting design questions and observations.

That's kind of what I was getting at earlier when I was asking about bolt locations without realizing the frames were different on 99-02's. From the pic supplied it looked like holes needed to be drilled.
I would rather use the sturdier bolts on the underside of the frame that hold the tow hook in place.

Interesting. I figured they were more light holes. That's kind of an odd design with the cutouts being completely open then... It's be nice to put something in there or to have some caps for it or something. hmmm....
