New Amplifier Set-Up

I installed a new amp in my 4-Runner last weekend and have yet to make any adjustments in the amp settings. Quite frankly, I really don't have a clue as to how to set it up. I realize that the settings are somewhat subjective based on sound preference, however any advice on the basic set-up process would be greartly appreciated.

My equipment includes:

Head Unit: Pioneer AVIC D3
Front Speakers: Infinity Kappa 6-1/2" Components (45Hz - 35KHz)
Rear Speakers: Infinity Kappa 6-1/2" Components (45Hz - 35KHz)
Sub: Infinity Reference 10" (25Hz - 400Hz)
Amp: Alpine PDX-5

More specifically, my questions are:
1) Should I make any adjustments in the internal radio equalizer before I attempt to adjust the gain settings or should the amp gain be set based on the base radio sound settings?
2) My speaker crossovers have a "0dB" and "6dB" selector button? How do I decide where to place this setting?
3) How do I go about adjusting the amp crossover settings?
4) The radio has an internal cut-off frequency for the sub (50, 80 and 125Hz) - should I use the adjustment on the radio to control the sub or use the adjustments on the amp itself?

set sub at 80 on the radio and amp as well, and have 80 on both front and back, is the 0db or 6db a tweeter switch? infinity kappas are nothing but tweeter sounds, if u want some mid sound, ull need to get better speaker. but for the cross over setting, 80hz on everything is fine. unless your speaker can take some beating, 63 works too, but becareful at high volume. might blow them. i personaly use 63 in the front, 80 in the rear and sub, gota becareful with those setting.

riceandpho - thanks for the insight. I will start at 80 across the board and fine tune from there.

The instructions with the speakers from Infinity are very vague on the 0 or 6 dB setting. I was hoping someone else may be familiar with the setting.

the 0db the -6db is the tweeter setting, if its to bright sounding, which it is, use the -6db setting. using 0 will make a harsh sounding tweeter. i have focal tn52 tweeters, and on my a/d/s/ crossover i have it on low, which is -3db, focal tweeter is very bright sounding, when i put it on mid 0db setting, its higher sounding, but at high +3db it can make u crack ur ear wax. since im used to using -3db setting on my crossover, putting at high will give me +6db of tweeter sound. really hurts the ear if u want to give it a try.
