New battery time

The battery in my RNR has given up the ghost and its that time again. Ive always run Interstate and had good luck with 'em. Any suggestions, recommendations... I was thinking about an Optima but heard they ain't what they used to be (what is).

Since I work for a Ford dealer, I would recommend a Motorcraft battery. From what I have been hearing since working here, they are a good quality batter. You can get one for about 110 bucks if you shop around.

My red top is starting to fade after three years, and I don't have a winch or burly lights that would have abused it. I'm not impressed and won't be buying another. My next battery will probably be a sears platinum, which is supposed to be a rebadged odyssey.

We went with a Factory Toyota battery, and have had great success with it. It's been one of the best batteries I've seen over the years. Interstate had given us issues in the past and Sears really hiked up prices. I'd agree, Optima is not what they used to be. We've got a Sears unit in a Boxster, and it's been fine so far, but on a Battery Tender jr.

Thanks for quick and appreciated responses. The Interstate was a 75 mo. unit and i checked the dates. It lasted exactly 75 mos. Not a day more! Will definitely be checking out the Sears and Toyota dealer. I'd check out the Motorcraft but the local Ford dealer went out of business.

Autozone fan here. It's all I have ever put in my vehicles. Never been stranded b'cos of a battery.

My 2003 battery just died. 10 years it lasted. I replaced it with an Optima yellow top.

I'd second the duralast. I had an 07 and a 10 Tacoma in succession and niether Toyota factory battery lived past 2.5 years.

I kept Optimas in my jeeps only becuase they were the best dry batteries at the time and I always expected to be laying on my roof at some point.

Most batteries last 3-4 years. Your stock lasted 10 years, which goes to show that OEM batteries are really good.

I've never had an OEM battery handle a summer of high speed washboards. That's not to say they're bad batteries, but they aren't built for the abuse I put my truck through. The Red Top has given me the best service so far, and I'm hoping for better from an Odyssey.

Not sure if you have a Costco near you...last I checked their batteries were rated pretty high and the price points are very reasonable... great customer service (easy returns/exchanges, if necessary).

Costco's return policy is excellent. Can't say the same for the batteries they sell. Bought one, and it crapped out after three years.

I will never buy an optima again, they have been slacking on their quality since their company got bought out a while back. I had one that rupture on me when I was up in the woods and almost exploded on me, the top was all bubbled. I have a duracell in mine now and it is awesome, just as powerful as optima claims to be without the hassle and price.

Checked out Costco but couldn't find anything on their website. I guess I would have to drive over... Autozone has a Duralast Gold 640CCA pn#25-DLG for $120 plus $12 core. Think it may be the one. Thanks everyone, your input has been greatly appreciated!
