New Billet Aluminum Shift Knobs

Whats Up people!

I've been working on a couple designs and I've come up with this for a set of knobs for the gear shifter and transfer case shifter. most of the ones I've seen I wasn't a big fan of, so here's mine. Here's the specs

- 7075-T6 Billet Aluminum
- Anodize Type II - Black (or not, IDK what y'all want)
- Red TRD inlay

Cost is going to be $100 for the gear shifter, and $50 for the transfer case shifter, and that's if enough people buy it

I'm currently 3D printing some test parts, and I'll let you know about changes. but look at the pictures, and let me know your thoughts!

I wonder if you will have copyrite issues with the TRD logo? I was thinking AJT Designs stopped making a key fob with the TRD logo for something related to copywrite. I like look, but would be concerned about keeping the nooks and crannies clean (as compared to a solid billet piece).

Agreed. AJT doesn’t use the TRD logo anymore because of not having the rights to it. The look is SUPER cool IMO, but the first thing I thought of was damn that’s gonna be hard to keep clean with all the dirt and dust. If she were a mall queen then this might make sense. For me it doesn’t, BUT I LOVE your design.

I like art.
I'd most likely be in for a gear selector once I see it installed.
I have the knob for the T-Case in the Limited so no dice there.
Toyota = :crazy:

Black or dark graphite (almost black) will be fine.

Whatcha lookin' at for lead time?

Love the look but as stated all the open crevices would be a ***** :whipping2
maybe design with cavities instead of open space
Wishing you great luck nice look :artist2:

Thanks for the info, I'll make a little logo and throw it in there. don't want to make big T angry

3-4 weeks for machining parts, 1 week for anodizing, and 1 week for post processing/shipping prep. so 5-6 weeks once the order is in

I was thinking about that too, but I kinda wanted the skeletonized look for see through. Maybe I'll look into that later on!

Best looking ones I’ve seen yet, I’d be down for a set.

I'll probably do a kickstarter for this, just for buyer protection. don't want to screw anyone. also tundra guys might want one too. I just have to gauge interest

Design looks very similar to the one I just purchased actually

I'd love to replace my transfer case knob. Just don't like the feel of that little round one. Your design looks great, but personally I would prefer the shift pattern in white (with a slight emboss) and no TRD logo.

I'd be down for a set, would look right in place w/ the black/carbon trim on the console and red accents on the seats.

My one gripe w/ the current manual transfer case knob is that when fully tightened, the shift pattern is quite askew; I need to back the knob off a bit to line up North-South with the console. Something to consider with the threaded sleeve in your transfer case knob design.

Great job, sub'ed

alright if you decide to make it, i will definitely buy a set. i like the skeletized look and no visible screws...

Cool design. 7075 seems like unneeded cost, but go for it. Having some machine tool experience some of those inside corners look pretty hard to cut...
