I'm gonna try this - bought it off Ebay.
Maybe you can pick them up cheaper separately.

I have a huge tear so I'm gonna try and find a scrap piece of leather first and glue it behind the leather hole, glue other flaps down, sand it and paint it.

I saw a youtube video of some guy do something similar to a mercedes front seats and it looked good.

I'll give it a shot when I have time and will post pics.

Ok cool. Oh, there is extra leather on my seat by the seatbelt. A decent sized flap that is tucked in. Maybe you can use that too. I'm assuming they leave this extra on purpose?

Not yet because the weather sucked. I'm gonna do it soon and will post before and after pics. I did install an awesome pioneer stereo so eventually I'll post new pics.

leather seat repair

well there's is a reason I'm not in the upholestry business.

I'm doing this in stages and even though this is an embarrassment so far I'll post what I've got.

I purchased some vinyl sheets at a fabric shop, cut it and glued in into the seat hole. But first trimmed around the seat hole because it was crumbling.

I tried the seat paint spray I purchased off of e-bay, but the color truly doesn't match my seats so I am unsure how far I'm going with this spray.

It looks like garbage but I'll work on it over time and will post more pics at some point.

Oh wow. That's some surgery! Keep me updated. I'm pretty sure this issue has affected everyone that has leather in their 3rd gen

Dude, you seriously need to do the "seat swap" like some of us have done!

well this is as far as i'm taking it

supper glued fabric into the hole, sanded it. painted it with some rustoleum that totally matches (probably not the best idea) and sprayed it w some zap kicker. That patch kit i bought was useless.

I accept defeat.

Jason Burtman 3rd gen spoiler

Just got my spoiler for my 3rd gen 4runner. The paint job is amazing. Got it in a month. Considering it had to be fabed, painted and shipped, came way faster than expected!! All emails were reponded to in minutes and the service was steller!!! I would definitely recommend you take a look at the web site..be aware he has all sorts of stuff to make ur rig look bad a**!! This means your mod list will never end!! Will poast pics as soon as I get it installed.

Glad to help you out. Yea, we just re-did the mold for better fitment, that's why it took longer than normal.

How does this affect a ladder fitment on the rear cargo door? Would like to know for future reference. thanks

I don't think it does. If I remember, I had one customer that had the rear ladder, but not sure who it was???
