New Digital A/C Cluster on 2016's, have you seen them?

You guys are kidding right? the TRD has a dial-o-4wd instead of a linked lever? I had assumed that is would be manual. Interesting.

In the end, linked lever or not; you're still depending on an ADD on the front axle to engage 4WD correctly. I think only the manual FJ Cruisers that came with "All-Time 4WD" set-ups had a "true" mechanical 4WD set-up.

that's not what he stated... the only mention of TRD was the transmission shifter.

...No 4WD lever, so not a trail. It has the TRD Transmission Shift knob though.

Does anyone know anything about the refreshed A/C Cluster on the 2016's? On the website this is the image that is displayed across all trim levels. Just want to know if anyone has actually seen these digital looking gauges on any FR?

That looks almost identical to my 14 Unlimited. With the exception that I have heated/cooled seat controls where the center bottom space is located.

Very confusing image. Not a limited, the seat cooler/heater switches are not present and no fake wood. No 4WD lever, so not a trail. It has the TRD Transmission Shift knob though.

I was thinking the same thing. Every part of the trim suggests TE, except the shift knob... The black trim plastic, the brushed above the glove box, the red stitching, the TRD shift knob..... I wonder if this indicated the 2016s have gone away from the lever altogether.

The photo the OP posted is a little confusing as it does show the TRD Pro interior (black trim and then the shift knob) with the limited AC cluster, unless something was changed for 2016 this is not a possible combo.

Anyways onto the more interesting stuff.

Someone on here already tried a direct swap of JUST the auto climate control cluster and IIRC it will plug in however it does not control so you would loose AC/Heat but you would have your digital readout. I did a decent amount of digging in the FMS and parts diagrams and I think it can be done but the cost is prohibitive unless you really want it or you can find a salvaged/junkyard 5th gen. Parts I think you need. I got a dealer quote for the servos and control unit and i think it was around $1700-1800

*Auto Climate Control control Pane
*Wiring harness (for the Auto panel) - maybe not needed
* 3 blend servos for the aC "climate box" under the dash

if anyone has a limited in the Twin Cities area and would be willing to dig into the dash with me (or let me) I would LOVE to see if this is indeed a direct swap. I really miss the auto climate control (hell my wife's 02 Lexus has it). I even contemplating finding a rental place that had a limited and doing a temporary swap to see if it functions as expected but couldn't find a limited (all SR5's).

I am not sure if you were referring to me or not. I put the dual climate controls in my SR5 quite some time ago. Everything worked properly with the dual controls installed, and by properly I mean it continued to work as it did before. Other than making it look like it has dual climate control, nothing changes. I do however think this is exactly what the OP is wanting.
