Post-trip update:
These new ATW3's are incredible. No highway drone (important as it's quite the haul from Houston to Aspen) and handled like champs through a wide variety of weather conditions. Averaged 18.5 mpg (I have a heavy foot...and because it takes friggin forever just to get out of Texas.) We ventured around through several steep, offroad passes - including Tincup Pass. Nothing like 3 hours in 4Lo, literally crawling up to 12,000 ft. Solid, no slippage, and no indication of the slightest treadwear or damage to the sidewalls. My wife drove most of the way up and she never sensed problems, either. The next day, after passing through Kebler Pass on our way from camping in Gunnison N.F. to Aspen, we encountered a wet and muddy road back down the mountain. No problemo! Didn't hit any real heavy rain until we were getting back into the Houston area, but again, no sense of instability at highway speeds and a torrential downpour. I wish I had more hands, so I could give these tires 4 thumbs up! Like most have said, they do pick up rocks...but who cares? Also, since it's commonly brought up: I inflated to 38lbs. the morning we left.
