New for me 08 Limited V8?

Hey guys,

Well I just pulled the trigger on an 08 V8 Limited, it has all the options minus 3rd row and entertainment. That air ride is a pretty cool option, I wasn't looking for one with it but this one had it. It is the Gray Mica color, haven't seen to many in this color, lots of sparkle in the light! Thanks to everyone on here for helping me decide between the V6 and V8. I noticed when you keep her at 60 and under the MPG is awesome. However when you get on her a couple times or keep it above 72, the mileage will suffer. Still bringing her back I avg 23 mpg(indicated), sure as hell beats my old Tahoe's 11!!! That v8 is so fricken smooth, I would take it again over the v6 any day even with the timing belt change in the future. So thanks again to everyone on here.

The search feature has been my friend but there are a couple things I had a hard time finding.

1. My baby will need new shoes. I will most likely keep the stock 18's. Now what is the max tire size I can fit on those. I noticed the 265/60's are not made in BFG AT's so what size are you guys running. I don't really want to trim anything. I like the AT's because of when I have to run in 12+ inches of snow, the Revo's just don't look like they will go through that stuff, but correct me if I am wrong. I would prefer the revos because I am sure they are better on road. However on my last 3 trucks/suvs I have always stuck with the BFG AT's.

2. Kind of an add on to the earlier question. What about if I add spacers? What is max tire size, remember I don't want a lift.

3. My headliner is the big fault in the new ride. Looks like someone loaded brush in the back and the sticks ripped the headliner a new one. Some deep scratches in it. Any help on how to get some out? A new headliner is $1200-1600!!! I was thinking a rough toothbrush and do some circular stuff.

4. Wax everywhere!!! The previous owner must have been blind with some nervous twitching because I have wax on the black plastic in the grill, on all the rubber window seals, around all the roof rack pieces, around the fog tlights, EVERYWHERE it isn't supposed to be. I have never seen so much wax put on stuff besides the paint. Suggestions that work, on how to get it off?

Anyhow, I may give her the clay bar today and wax her up. Then I will post a pic. Thanks for any help on the above stuff!

The Revos do well in the snow...maybe better than the BFG ATs. I see quite a few Hankook Dynapro ATMs here in Colorado and I like that tire anyway, so it is my choice. I have used the Revos and the Michelin LTX M&S- I did not like the latter and they seem to be pretty useless offroad. The new MS2 cannot be leaps and bounds better and if you go offroad, you can damage them. They are great on the dry hghway and decent in the wet but bad in the snow and on gravel/rocky terrain.

I say Revos or look at the Hankook or Toyo Open Country ATs. Stick with stock size or go to 265/70R16 but the BFG ATs may run in that size due to the square shoulders.

Wax- try to use a good carwash and see if it removes it. If not, add some Dawn and try the same. Dawn (just a bit; not too much) in warm water will strip wax and may stip it effectively off your plastic- especially with a brush. Then you can coat the plastic with a protectant. Rememeber that Dawn will stip wax completely so careful on yor paint though if you rinse it off, it will not damage anything but rinse it off fast. Do it section by section and not the full car. Thanks for the advise, suggestions.

Maybe I will give the Revo2's a chance. However I will also look into the Toyo and Hankook Dynapro.

I used WD40 on the wax, it seemed to work. However we will see if it just shined up the plastic and rubber enough that the wax was no longer visible? We will see.

I spent most of the day yesterday using the clay bar and cleaning the new truck up. It turned out really nice. Here are some pics.

I just put the Revo's on mine last week.. my stock tires were like yours 265/60/18 and I put Revo 255/70/18 and it changed the looks completely.I put a Daystar 2.5 front/1.5 rear on....I did have to adjust the black plastic under the front fenders to eliminate rubbing and will have to do some more slight adjustment today on the backside of the front fender plastic again. I had michelin tires that came on the vehicle with 29k miles on them and thse Revo's seem to be the same with no road noise and excellent grip on and off road. I haven't had them on the highway while raining so I'll have to wait and see how it does.
