New guy, just pickup up a 88 4runner!

just ordered an ecu for 55 shipped... cheaper than the knock sensor so figured i would try that first... this thing is driving me nuts!!

New ecu showed up today. Plugged her in and surprise surprise I am still getting code 52...

Ugh. Does anyone know where the shielding around the knock sensor grounds?

My 2 cents. Def got a leak in your brake system. Whatever find that and you should be fine. Bleed all the old fluid out. As for the code, have you checked your timing and all your plugs and wires? When I got my runner the timing was way outta whack, I think my timing gun was like 20 bucks. Ive heard bad timing can throw that code. And I know you got the knock sensor code or whatever, but maybe check your fuel filter/fuel pump? It should be pretty easy to pull the filter and see if its all gunked up. Good luck.

never fixed this thing been busy camping and working. kinda a bummer. posted it for sale but zero interest. not surprised.
