New Guy (Sort of)...have a few questions

Well, i'm coming over from TTORA and a 2001 Tacoma...yes i miss it, but i'm really loving the 4runner (huge difference all around).

Anyway, I plan on getting in on the Burtman spoiler group buy ("gotta have the hump") and lifting the front end just to level it out. I won't be doing any rock climbing/"wheeling"/anything extreme in this truck at least until it's paid off.

Now for my questions:

1. I had my Tacoma lifted enough for functionality initially using the toytec spacer lift and then switched over to the OME coil lift w/ a new leaf pack and some 285's (a lot more but we'll leave that for another day).

NOW not very many people, if any, (including me) are fans of spacer lifts on Tacoma's as they are known to lead to problems in the long-run not to mention the pretty big difference in ride quality.

On the flip-side almost everybody on this forum is a fan of them (cornfed, revtek, toytec, etc.). Is there that big of a difference in overall quality between spacer lifts for the 4th gen Runners and Tacoma's?

2. Has anyone run the Hankook Dynapro ATM's on this board? I purchased some for my Tacoma so it would sell a little easier without the MT's and REALLY liked them for the few weeks I drove around on them. If you're not familiar with them, they are very similar to the Toyo AT and Nitto Terra Grappler...but have a little bit more of an aggressive look without that cheesy lightning bolt on the sidewall. (sorry if i offend any TG lovers out there)

More than anything I just want to know if they are good in the long run as they will probably be my next tire...

if you dont have the x suspension, id bite the bullet & get adj. coilovers for the front, that way you can set it at the height thats good for you, & have much better ride/handling than the stock sr5

I have the same tire Hankook Dynapro ATM's on my 03 runner and I like it better than BFG - Radial Long Trail.

It ride quiet compare to the BFG. That's only my opinion

Adj. Coilovers are always an option, my brother put some Hoe's ("Icon's" now) on his and the difference is pretty evident. I might just stick w/ the OME's for this round while I can save enough for that ticket.

Yeah, i've run the BFG A/T and M/T, Goodyear Wrangler, General Grabbers and Cooper STT's. For the time I had the Dynapro's they were impressive...do you have any pictures of them on your rig?

 

[ToyTec Lifts]

It is always recommended to lift the vehicle with the proper spring verses a spacer. The ride quality is really that much better, and your actual lift will last much longer than the spacer kit.

Coil overs are a great option for selectablity, but if money is tight, the OME is also good.

We do carry both.
