New Icon multi-rate rear springs

Did you guys see the new rear springs from Icon?

I'm wondering how they differ from the MetalTech coils that come in the ET kit, or if they're much different at all...

The site says FJ Cruiser but the FB page says they're 03+ T4R as well.

My buddy has them on his fj with a heavy rear bumper and they still lift a ton. The spring rate is very high for anything normal IMO

Knowing that, they must have a pretty jarring/stiff ride then, huh?

Any chance you could post a link to your buddy's ride? What is he running in the front? I'd estimate you'd get a rake similar to the stock amount... simple math tells you if you lift the rear 3"and the front 3" (pretty standard for Icon lift w/ aftermarket UCAs) then it won't be level.

I just called icon earlier today to ask a couple of questions about these. I asked if I were to run these,(running mono tube icon shocks) would I need to change out my rear shocks? No. Q:When running theses springs,what is the least amount of weight that should be on these springs? Icon:if your running an aftermarket bumper of 200lbs+,you should be good to go.
FYI for those getting the CBI rear bumper with swing out,tire carrier,table,gas can mount(me). Per Nathan at CBI,bumper w/o swing out is about 130lbs. Swing out will be roughly 70lbs. With gear attached most likely 300lbs+,with camping gear well over 400lbs.
I think these springs would be just what I need.

They mentioned these to me almost a year ago.... I waited for em and it seemed like they were vapor ware so I went with the OME 896's which turned out to be a great choice but these have definitely piqued my interest. Hopefully someone takes the plunge and lets us know how they ride!

Buddies rig. It doesn't look too bad here but his icon C/O's are at 2.5" drivers and 2" passengers of exposed threads. According to Icon they didn't recommend going over 2". He has an expedition 1 swing out bumper with a 33" km2. Probably close to 200lbs total for reference.



These photos don't make it look too bad either but I'm pretty sure this FJ is running 35's.

Wonder how those springs feel over the dirt.


PS - tell your buddy he is safe to crank those front C/O's a bit more. Icon revised their stance on the whole "don't do past 2" of exposed threads on the C/O body" Now they are saying you can pass this measurement, but make sure you have at least 2" of down travel left on the shock. Cranking them past this will turn your ride to hell.

On another note did y'all see from the pics that with this spring they're running the hydraulic air bump stops? I still don't understand how those would be beneficial based on the thread I started earlier about those.
