New Maxxis Razr AT

So, first impressions are good overall and met my expectations. The lighter weight was very noticeable and I could tell the truck didnt have to dig as hard when I hit the gas. Train tracks and abrupt hits were a little smoother as well but the Falkens were getting low on tread too.
The only "downside" being the rounded profile, but again, I've accepted this and think the tradeoff is worth it for the increased pep on the road...for now.

I kept my falkens so of course I had to compare them. The 50k+ mile falken tread (not aired up) measured right at 0.5" wider at the lugs. This confirms the massive visual difference and why the Maxxis appear smaller. It's just a rounder tire with more recessed lugs...no way around it. The lug design yields itself to an even smaller look as the wider kug is staggered against the narrower lug from side to side. All cosmetics and preference of course as this profile benefits the lighter weight and road manners.

For now, I'm happy with them since they were only $920 OTD. Granted the Falkens were only $100 more...maybe I should've, nah...Lol.

Just curious if you have driven through rain with them yet? I am between KO2's(again), these tires, or wildpeak AT3w's. How would you compare the falkens and maxxis razr onroad, offroad and in rain? I am guessing you haven't driven them in snow.
Ko2's were not great in the rain but good in snow when new. horrible in hail, rain and snow <50% tread depth.

Thanks!

I'm at 2 years now with these and 20k miles and they have still been great. I got a few good snow drives in this year and they were more than competent. Even wear. Still some road noise, but it's fine. Overall, I would still 100% buy these tires again and unless something comes along that wows me I will do so when they wear out. Based on current wear, I don't think they will make it to the 60k warranty before needing to be replaced, but somewhere in the 45-50k range. I'll still sleep well at night with that.

Also bonus, they are inflation proof. I just checked amazon and they are $180/apiece. Insane considering everything else is $300 for a 285/70.

Don't sleep on these. I hope they come out with a RAZR2 with a bit cooler sidewall and everything else stays the same. I'm nitpicking here, tho.

I'd rather pay a little more for the new KO3s which are made in America, than the Maxxis which are made in China. Buy Made in USA!

If you have an extra $500 burning a hole in your pocket for USA made tires on your Japanese vehicle I'm happy to send you my venmo.

I ended up pulling the trigger on a set of P rated Razr 285's from Simple Tire. I was going back and forth between these and C load KO3's but for $710.51 shipped I figured I would roll the dice!
