Hey everyone,
New member here! I just bought a new 2011 Trail Edition about a month ago. When I first bought the car I noticed some white markings on the hood. Three of them about an inch long. I brought them to the dealers attention and they said it was some remains of the glue from plastic that the cars ships with. They took it into the shop and said they fixed it. I was in a hurry and drove off without looking at it. I have a great relationship with the dealer and had no reason to think it was anything else. Anyways, work kept me busy for a couple days and totally forgot about my hood so I didn't look at it for about a week. When I did I realized that it was indeed scratches. I took it back to the dealer and they said "Yep, scratches, we'll need to repaint the hood under warranty". I'm happy they said it would be repainted under warranty but am annoyed that my brand new car has to have its hood repainted. Does anyone have any other ideas on ways that I could go about this? I know car paints can be hard to match perfectly. My car is black for the record. It's hard for me to have to leave the car at the shop for a week as its my only car. Thanks in advance and for all the help this site gave me when first buying my car.
