New roll-over test???

Assuming you're referring to the NHTSA roll over ratings, 3 stars is pretty much the norm for SUVs. Some only get 2 stars and very few (like the MDX I think) are able to get 4 stars. Last time I checked the NHTSA roll over ratings aren't really a "test" but rather a rating that results from some kind of mathematical equation.

Oh that's brand new info, thanks - I had heard they were gonna try to come up with a real test but didn't know the results were already out. I wonder if they tested one with XREAS - perhaps it would have helped a little :dunno:

What I find interesting is that the 4wd versions of some vehicles did better that the same model with 2wd.

Overall looking at some other vehicles that got 3 stars I think the 4Runner has a good rating for an suv. There are some CARS on that list that got 3 stars.

I guess its either settle with a 3 out of 5 roll over score or settle with low ground clearance, low center of gravity and independent rear suspension. :thumbdwn:
