Prinsu has been quite responsive over email. Seems that they might have one for us at some point. I'll inquire further.

The feet come with it but that is it not the tracks that it mounts to you would need to source those. Also we do not make one for the 3rd gen 4runner yet so it looks like someone might have just make shifted it to work. Also the 1st gen Tacoma bed is not as wide as the newer Tacoma’s so normally we send shorter cross bars for the 1st gen Tacoma’s. Also we do not have the top rack for that on the website yet so you would need to call in to order that.

Let us know if you have any further questions, if you choose to stick with your initial request then it would be up to you to make it fit properly no guarantee from us sorry.

The original owner of Prinsu (Zach) was working on a 3rd Gen rack as well. That fell through the cracks once Gobi started taking company's to court over how to racks mount to the roof. After discussing options with him he let me know the bed rack would fit a 4runner, and mount the exact same way they mount on the Tacoma's.

The newer Tacoma rack is the one that I have, and I'll pull the actual measurements of it when I get home today. I'll get some additional pictures too so you can see exactly how it mounts.

Well, the rep I communicated with over email said they will have something for the 3rd gen 4Runner this year:

"We do plan on it this year not sure I can tell you when exactly but we do plan on building one for it."

I've heard such before though, so I won't be holding my breath...

When time permits, any addtional photos and measurements would be great. Thanks much.

There's a special place in hell for Gobi. It's a shame no one has had the resources to challenge that design patent; it has to be weak (even for a design patent.)

But that's how it works in our legal system - bigger checkbook wins.

I'm working on a couple of vertical sail panels for the 3rd gen 4Runner as we speak; they mount in the factory rack location and have accessory holes in the event an owner wants to decorate/addend them as they see fit.

This is all that I have at the moment. I can get others tonight if you want? I actually have the rack pulled off right now so I should be able to get pictures of everything. They mount using the Yakima Anchor Plate A that you have to slide into the track, and it'll take 8 total.

Did the rack come with the black legs that the bolt goes through before getting to the Yakima anchor plate you see in the picture?

What material are you using? I would assume you're using an 80/20 or similar material?

Yes, 80/20 for the cross slats and I'm thinking 1/4" Al flat bar for where they connect on the sides. Maybe something thinner still trying to decide on the that as well as the height of the side plates.

While I haven't driven or even touched my 4Runner since returning from a family trip over a month ago, I did make some time to follow-up with Prinsu...

They confirmed that they are indeed working on a rack for us, doing test fitting, and I was told "maybe another month or so before we have it ready and priced."

I added a reminder to my calendar for late May, over two months out. If this comes to fruition, an aluminum rack, one that is not full length, I'd be very interested for sure.
