New SCS 17x9 F5 Wheels

I've seen that SCS recently came out with the F5 wheels in 17x9. They have 3.5 backspacing and -38 mm offset. I was wondering if the aggressive offset is the equivalent of having wheel spacers and the regular 17x8.5 SCS wheels with -10 mm offset.

I ask this because I am interested in these new wheels but I'd like to know if I would need to get a BMC if I get them. I currently have the SR8 wheels with 285/70 17 duratracs and do not rub after some fender trimming and a 3 inch lift.

The more aggressive F5s are equal to sticking 32mm (about a 1.4" spacer on a standard F5). You'll also lose some inner clearance, and the 9in wheel sits a little more inward to the wheel well. It really depends on your tire size, but I'm pretty certain you'll need a BMC and fender trimming to fit these. You might clear with enough positive caster if you are just rolling around town, but at full stuff and lock you will likely stuff the fender/hit the body mount.

Thanks man. I guess I'll just wait until the truck is a little older before I get these. Then I'll be more comfortable doing a BMC.
