I'd be interested to know how this is being done. So I'll wait till I see how it's executed before postulating.

I still have qualms about the need to make the bumper completely replace the body panel, and knowing how much things can flex. We've discussed that on other venues, but given that this is new and a prototype I'm sure there's room for improvement.

Once i get it in there and wired up I will take pics ofcourse and take shots of the angle of view from inside the vehicle

As far as the bumper ya we discussed it on IG so no need to beat a dead horse or anything haha but ultimately miles on the vehicle in a variety of off road situations and putting the product under stress will expose any issues so that we can tweak it accordingly but everyone who owns a 5th gen would be lieing if they said they didnt originally want a direct bumper replacement option for the rear that requires no cutting or modifying of the plastic bumper. So thats what we are trying to accomplish but it is what it is it has to be tested and tweaked until its perfect and hopefully we can pull it off and get this thing into production!

But just know we appreciate you guys pointing out the defects, asking the questions and voicing the concerns, as much as the compliments because it is the only way to improve the product and deliver something the 4Runner community can appreciate.

Your Runner is coming along nicely and that color really change the look of those wheels. Its awesome that we have another choice for the rear bumper.

Yes I am 90% positive there will be a bumper light cut out as an option and you will likely be able to purchase the lights as well right from Southern Style

Great! I like the side ladder because the Gobi ladder doesn't work without cutting if you use a baja rack....it also doesn't work with most "deluxe" rear bumpers (aka..rear tire, jerry cans, etc.) Looks like you are running the baja rack, and the side ladder solves this problem.

I have a couple questions...

- How much does this weight ???
- Will it come in an aluminum option ???

The major problem I have with this is the frame cutting and the ladder hanging out in the middle of no where. A bang against tree or there might be an rock in the right spot to push that thing into the glass; with just enough force to crack it.

- so can we have the option of no ladder ???
- Can a lower tow hitch for no frame cutting option ???
- Can this be used with the GobI ladder ??? Since alot of us just bought Gobi Racks...

1. Yes, the entire design is completely modular, so customers can choose what they'd like to run. The ladder bolts on and also has a rubber foot to keep it from banging into the glass accidentally.

2. Yes, we'll offer a standard bolt on drop hitch as well as the integrated hitch you see here.

3. You could order it with a single passenger side swing arm to accomodate your gobi ladder if you wished.

Our gobi worked fine with our baja utility rack it never rubbed once. But yes a side ladder, although increases the vehicle width, it allows for the jerry cans to sit tighter to the vehicle rather then being high and out away from the hatch.

Aww darn i should have took pics like that with just one swing arm and our gobi before i sold the ladder =/ i dunno what i was thinking... Grr what a newb move!

A rack that has awning brackets, a spot for a hi lift, a shovel, a spot for Maxtrax, and a home for 4 gallon Rotopax (I know...impossible list)

2 = Can you please post pics of how much you have to cut the frame ??? This might make me decide on the lower hitch. I do like the higher ground clearance...

3= Ultimately; I like having one swing arm more than dual. Will I be able to get a JeriCan mount and possible folding table top option like they offer with the CBI bumper situated between the tire carrier and the JeriCan mount.

Haha those videos were just chunks of footage this trip will be a bit more production value, drones, better lenses etc.. nothing like expedition overland haha but still should be fun to watch.

We will be making stops in Assateague Island National Seashore, Acadia National Park and a couple other places so hopefully we will get some epic footage for everyone =)

It's a beautiful back bumper. It looks like it improves the back clearance and departure angle a bit over the stock bumper.

It appears that the ladder is bolted on in 4 places, with anchor points on each side at the bottom and top of the side panel. It cantilevers above the steel side panel. The ladder is a nice brush guard. One problem with having a ladder set this close to the body is there's little room for your toes or the ball of your foot to fit through the ladder. You end up putting your toes on the ladder rungs. And if you kick the body you risk putting scratches in the paint. I'd like to see more space between the ladder and the body.

If someone is worried about putting scratches in the paint, I'm guessing they are not driving their truck off road.... hence, they don't NEED this bumper. JM2C.
