Those look great - also interested in how they perform for you - I went with the Duratracs but did look at those - Nokian makes some great tires.

Those look nice, and Nokian has a stellar reputaion. I have Nokian WR tires for my Maxima. While technically all-season, they're severe snow rated, and drive on sheets of ice like most tires do on wet pavement. 5" of snow? No problem, even in a front wheel drive sedan and a limited slip front differential.
Their mountain bike tires aren't bad either, and Nokian makes a lot of military off-road service tires for armored vehicles. In fact, that's what they look like.
Nokians are unobtainium south of any state that does not touch the Canadian border, however.

Hey I do not mind at all telling you guys. Not sure exactly how much the tire itself was but where I got them they were $206/ea. mounted/balanced. So far I am really enjoying them.
Started snowing here today in Billings, MT and drove up to the Rim Rock overlook. Snow isn't sticking on the roads yet but it was at the overlook. It was begging me to play in it. They have real good grip even though it wasn't but an inch or so. Roads are wet and handles great so far on them.
In the pic you can see the tread pattern in snow.

Thats a great pic - I was just in Billings about 3 weeks ago, blew through on my way to Buffalo Wy to go hunt antelopes. I sure like that area.
Nokia (yes the cellphone company) started out in paper product; then moved into rubber product; and it most recent reinnovation was into cellular technology.
with its roots in Finland, they definitely have a lot of experience with gravel back roads and snowy winters. That's an attractive tire aside from a useful one

They have a sweet hum to them and in no way is distracting. So no, not a lot of noise but noticeable over the factory Dunlops (which were silent)
I can neither confirm nor deny that but the Nokian tire pamphlet at the tire store still had them and they are now on my vehicle! lol.
Maybe it was because they're from Finland and you were on their North American site! :boink:

I had a set of Nokians previously on my Audi Allroad. They were awesome tyres. My only gripe was the sidewall was soft and I ripped rubber off one of the tires as I parked up against a curb(stupid move).
Prior to upgrading the tires on the T4R, I did look at the Nokian website, although did not see that they are 10 ply. Let us know how they workout for you, as I am very interested and might replace once my BFG's wear out, or I get tired of them (since they last like 80k).

"Finnish" = Suomalainen (Suomi = Finland). And yes... I do have a soft spot for Finland. lived there for 2.5 years (H:Ki). Hang out on Suomelina, watch the Jokerit-Hifki games... ahhhhhhh the good 'ol days :hungry: :nerd:

Just out of curiosity, what size are they?
Trying to replace the tires on my 2011 Limited with something that'll handle both a bit of off-road and a Minnesota winter, but no one around here seems to carry anything that replace the horrid factory 245's I have on there now.

Hey they are 265/70/17. It's the same size tire as the factory 17s. I am unsure as to what other sizes this tire offers, if any. Good luck in your search!

And I figured out why no one carries any "useful" tires for the Limited - because 20" wheels suck for anything other than cruising to the grocery story!
Looks like I may be looking for new wheels, too. If anyone wants to swap for some 20" OEM wheels with less than 7K on 'em, I'm all ears...
I'm not a tire expert by any stretch of the imagination, anyway. Probably should have bought a TE or SR5, but the wife wanted to have her butt warm, leather, her own temp controls, the kind of Nav she liked, etc. - i.e. too many add-ons that made buying anything but the limited impractical. Women: can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em...

So I was able to locate a set of these tires. I have a quick question for the group. When I told the dealer I wanted these, his reaction was "you want MUD tires?"
He seemed surprised enough that I thought I'd as, mainly because I am not a "tire guy." Is there any issue with running "mud tires" like these, specifically for winter driving? I mean, every review I've seen of these tires says they're great on snow and ice.
How about running them year round? After I purchased the TE rims, I had initially planned on doing that. But if it's a problem or will cause a huge dip in mileage, I can always keep the 20" rims and stock tires (that I had planned to sell, because I think they're butt-ugly) and use those in the summer.
These Vatiiva's are not "monster" tires, as you can see from Prolex's photos (265/70/r17's) so I can't imagine there would be a major issue. The again, I know squat about tires.

I believe the tire is an "all season" tire, not specifically a "snow tire".
Does the tire have a snowflake on the sidewall? If not, it's technically, not a snow/traction tire (at least not what Oregon law enforcement would call a snow/traction tire).
It may be good in snow and ice, however, ......... just say'in.
