Hey everyone,
I'm new here, and to Toyota in general. I could give a long background on how I got to the point of buying the 4Runner, but long story short. I'm an american car guy who feels like the american car manufactures have stopped making tough SUV's forcing me to look at other car companies to find what I want in a vehicle. I'm slightly embarrassed the only comparable vehicle made by an american car company is the Jeep Wrangler 4-door which I'm not too fond of the removable tops (from previous cars I've owned), also the fact the cargo room is virtually non-existant. This is hands down the best vehicle in the mid-size SUV category. The Durango, Traverse, and Explorer should be removed from the SUV category because their car-based frame is an embarrassment to the name SUV.
How I got to the SR5 is another story in its own. Long story short, there was a 2011 New Limited 4Runner at the dealer that we test drove that had the roughest ride I've experienced in an SUV. I didn't know if it was the tires, suspension, or something else but my wife refused to let me get a limited or even test drive another because of how rough that one rode (she's kind of stubborn). The SR5 though rides great. After looking for a while at different ones on the internet, there was no question in my mind that I wanted the Salsa Red with Tan leather interior which my dealer found and had brought in 1 day after I ordered it. I absolutely love this vehicle. The bluetooth connection with my iPhone works better than I could ever imagine it working. I don't know what all mods I will do. I will first add running boards because my wife cannot get up into the vehicle as it is right now. After that, I may just run it stock until I pass the warranty period.
