New to Denver looking for info

My wife and I took jobs in Denver and will be moved in, in about 2 weeks. My truck is a 3rd gen 4x4 with rear locker but completely stock because all mods so far have been preventative maintenance items. I'm looking for resources (web, map, books, etc) to help me start learning the lay of the land and places to explore. Obviously I cant do any serious wheeling with my truck equipped stock so I'm looking for some easy trails to at least start exploring a little. I'll be living on the NW side of Littleton. I'd like to find some spots that are close by so I can get quick random trips in and then also maybe some a little further out for the weekends and what not.

Also looking for some info and resources on Mountain Biking trails.

Welcome, hope you have an easy move; I'm sure you'll love CO, I do. Best decision I've ever made.

Anyways, here's a few resources I use to get out into the mountains on trails I don't know. Plus it's good to cross reference resources when your 3-4 hours from home in potentially poor cell reception range. As far as the books go, these are the only ones I've purchased and used, so I cannot speak on the others, but I'm sure they will work too. You can pick them up locally at bookstores or REI, etc or on Amazon.

[*edit] Oh yeah, forgot to say you'd be surprised where a stock truck will take you in CO. With both of my stock rigs, one a 2003 Taco with open gears (only "mod" was BFG KO AT's) and my current 2013 Trail 4R with stock suspension and tires have been able to get through every 5-6 rating trail I taken it on. Cautious line selection and good spotting can take you a long ways. If you're not sure about something try out the off-roading section of this forum, people more knowledgeable than me can answer questions about these trails off the top of their head.
