Greetings from Nova Scotia !. The dream has finally become a reality. In recent years I have acquired a love for 3rd gen 4Runners and I had spent the last year looking for a decent one to call mine. Here on the east coast we have some rust issues and I didn't really have the funds to go west and bring a nice one back, and up until around August of this year I pretty much gave up and decided to look for something different. Working for the biggest family of car dealerships in the city has it's perks and on August 30th I was at one of the two Toyota dealerships when I saw sitting on the fence destined for either the Auction or wholesale, a very dirty 2001 4runner Limited. I instantly dropped everything and ran inside to get some info. Less than two weeks later this beautiful machine was mine (after $525 in work for a new MVI but I'm not complaining ). It was originally bought at Stampede Toyota in Calgary and it's my assumption that it has only been in Nova Scotia for a few years due to the minimal rust, mind you it does have a few spots that will be addressed, and it looks as though the owners drove behind a dump truck every day due to the 1000+ rock chips on the front bumper. Kilometres are a little higher than I wanted (267000 ish ) but it's a Toyota built Tank. This thing works and it works great !. Loaded with all the options and everything( except for my gas gauge which never reads correctly ) is functioning like new. After a well deserved bath it cleaned up great.
I'm new to T4R.ORG but I'm looking forward to sharing the updates and photos of my build, and taking in any knowledge others have.
