New wheels or spacers?

Ok so now that I have my shrockworks sliders and CBI bumper my wheels are looking too far in to the wheel well. So I decided I could either get spacers and push my trd pro wheels out or just get a set of FN Konig 6 shooters instead at 0mm offset. I'm torn....I really like my wheels but Im kinda worry running spacers...

What do you guys think?

Your wheels kind of look like the Imperial emblem on the gas tank door. The things you need to look at are how much do you want to push them out (spacers are usually 1.25"), are you prepared to do some trimming and cutting to fix any rubbing issues that might result, are you willing to do the necessary maintenance for spacers, and are you prepared for the possibility of having to replace your wheel bearings more often? Also, some places have laws about pushing your tires out past the fenders.

I can't help you with the poll, I'm struggling with the same decision myself. I've got 285 duratracs on the stock sr5 wheels now and like the look.
I've got some konig countersteers in the garage, but I think I may sell them and just get some spidertrax for a beefy stock look instead.

If you plan on wheeling often or street racing, I'de say new wheels.

But if you're like 90% of us, spacers should be fine. I like those TRDs

Just leave it alone. It looks fine. I never understood why everyone wants their wheels sticking out farther. If you really do off road it makes it harder to follow narrower Jeep tracks and makes it harder to squeeze between big rocks.

I voted spacers, as long as you're aware of the extra wear and maintenance. I love the tall look of the tires on the narrower rims. I had 17x9 rims all picked out when I ordered my 2015 but after pics from a few members here I changed my mind and went with factory. Of course I'm a chick so I'm already prone to change my mind...

Any time I drive on wet roads, gravel, or mud I end up with dirt all the way up to the windows, have chips in my rockers, and once even cracked my side mirror with a rock kicked up by my rear tire.

There used to be 3/4" spacer available. There were a few guys on the 4th gen side that had them a few years back. Not quite as aggressive as the 1.25's.

That's probably too much. Maybe like 1-1.25 inch.

I've fought this fight too often. Experience is the best teacher sometimes. Apparently some think that dimensions are just suggestions with no analysis behind them. What really kills me is, in stock form, the 4runner is one of the most reliable vehicles out there and any modification will decrease component longevity. Now with guys like [MENTION=66300]Intruder[/MENTION] or [MENTION=89562]bimrunner[/MENTION] that modded for something other than looking good at the mall I totally understand and agree. The posers? They will learn...or not.

Yes.

Not exactly, or at least not to the same extent. A 1" spacer on the stock wheel may end up with an outer position the same as the 8"+0 wheel, but the inner position and centerline is much more inward with the wider wheels, and much closer to stock, so the wear should in theory be less.
