Definitely new wheels. But I'm biased. I am a huge fan of high end custom wheels. Last set was a genuine set of Volk TE37x 16x8 with neg 20 offset on my 2007 FJ running 305 series tires. Wheels weighed 17 lbs. Saw off-road regularly. After we had a kid, ditched the supercharged FJ. My current set on my Limited are three piece forged 20x9" wheels with an aggressive custom offset and custom finish, (brushed titanium with titanium hardware). Running 275/55/20 Nittos. Surprisingly the weight of the wheel and tire combo was very close to stock... Meaning my wheels weigh in the mid 20 lb range. We no longer regularly off-road and the wheels suit the vehicle and our needs.

If there's a certain look you're after then go for it. Don't compromise. And for the love of god please don't get custom wheels and then get spacers... Do it right the first time around.

So how often will bearings need to be replaced with the new wheels (0mm) compared to the stock wheels(+30mm)?

There is no doubt increased wear on the bearings with heavier and aggressive offset wheels. With that said however, my FJ went 50k miles with no problems. The wheel and tire combo weighed a ton due to the 33" procomps.

Is it a valid concern? Yes. Deciding factor for me? No.

I only know that it will be less than stock. Many many variables. Now, if you never drive it and put it up on blocks...

But konigs will be lighter than my trds plus I'm running 265s....

So are you lightening up your vehicle too? Force vectors work both ways.

Exactly. This topic should be a consideration not a deal breaker. How many people who add spacers and change wheels actually think of increased bearing loads beforehand? I know.

But from what I have read these rims also stick out an extra 0.5" from stock do to a different off set. Let me see if I can find the thread.

They are +4mm offset....so I guess I would need something more aggressive like the countersteer which is a -10mm

Would I rub with a -10mm offset 4.1 backspace with 265/70 AT tires??

Probably just slightly. When I mounted my 17 x 8 - 4.5" back spaced wheels and the 265/70 Grabbers my left front would just rub at full right turn in reverse. I drove it that way for months because I rarely put the wheel in that position. When I installed the spacers it forced me get off my butt and to do the front fender mod. I had contact front and rear on both sides at half turn on the wheel.

If you really do off road it makes it harder to follow narrower Jeep tracks. . .
