Newbie to the boards and new owner of a 06

I been reading in the shadows for a few weaks now picking up small tips and information here and there.

What I am looking for are small cheap things I can do to make my 4Runner my own and differant from stock ones.

If you have idea or things that you have done to you ride please let me know.

How cheap are you talking about?

$4.95 fuzzy dice cheap or $500 spacer lift cheap...

for under $50 you can (one of the following):
- cover it with mud (while having a blast on a trail somewhere)
- get the fuzzy dice
- get a trailer hitch receiver plug that lights up with some design

For under $200 you can (one of the following):
- tint the windows
- change the floor mats
- replace the stock stereo (if not a JBL) with a SCION unit
- install homelink
- install satelite radio (plus monthly subscription)
- install window channels

For under $500 you can (one of the following):
- change the tires to something more agressive
- get a spacer lift
- get a cold-air intake
- change the stereo to an much better aftermarket system
- add lighted running boards


There are (of course) other things to do with the money, but since this is a family oriented forum...

Just tryign to get ideas and make a list of were to start.

I am looking at spending $1-$300 at a time. to get a few smaller jobs done. Then save cash to do some of the higher cost mods.

Basically for under $300, you can slightly upgrade the Stereo and add on some accessories, but not much in the way of functional off-road modifications. One thing that was mentioned was the hitch step... Excellent add-on if you have people in your area that like the "tap the bumper' method of parking. The rear plastic bumpers on the 4Runner are a little flimsy.

I been looking over all ther group buys trying to watch for stuff that I like and fits my model. But so far not allot for 06 stuff being talked about unless i am looking at wrong titles.

so you can smoke your cigs with the window cracked in the rain.
at least that's what i learned from my dad!

but i moved...and it don't rain here..

and nobody smokes.......

I don't use them (never thought they looked right), but some people like 'em. You can have your windows open (a little) in the rain, or just leave them cracked without getting that wind-blown effect.

I always drive with the windows cracked so they come in handy for me.

I always drive with the windows all the way down...even in the rain as long as its not a torrential down pour... but is that the only purpose they serve? Because if so I can tell you now I have zero need for them.

Few basic uses, keep rain out, vent in hot sun, to smoke,to keep wind down.

Then lastly some people like the look of them.

if you didn't get the jbl system, switch you head unit with a scion one. you can get them on ebay for cheap and it's easy enough to install. makes worlds of difference. music is much better with a scion hu. otherwise, tint, wind deflectors, t4r.org stickers, exhaust tip, brighter head light blubs, are cool too.

oh, and i almost forgot!...removing your front license plate. your "cool points" go way up! lol.
