Newbie wants to get 17in wheels for 2010 Limited, what do I need to know

Hi all, I'm the proud new(bie) owner of a 2010 Magnetic Grey Limited. Love the truck so far but I have a few concerns about the upcoming winter. I live in a very hilly area of a large city and am concerned about the OEM tires in the snow and ice, and the winter muck and grime on the OEM rims. I travel to ski hills two or three times a month during the winter. The questions I have are:

1. Have any of you had issues getting around in similar scenarios in your 2010 factory wheels and tires?
2. I've seen a lot of posts about putting SR5 wheels and tires on LEs. How does such a swap impact the Tire Pressure Monitoring System?
3. If I were to shop for non-OEM wheels and rims on tire rack, could I simply enter my vehicle as a 2010 SR5? My concern is offset, and rim width
4. If I were to stay with the 20inch OEM wheels (7.5 width) can I just pick any 20in tire that will fit? For example, if it says the tire will fit on rims that are between 7 and 9 inches, that tire should work correct?

Most wheel shops can swap you factory tpms sensors to your aftermarket wheels. I'll be selling my SR5 wheels soon. If your interested in a 17" wheel set om me.

fyi, there are several threads on the 20 inch wheels.
you cannot just put any 20 inch tire on these weird rims. they are only 7 inchs wide to begin with.
