What's up everybody. I need some help/advice. I have had an 87 4runner for about 2 years. Well I've decided to keep her. The body is pretty straight and I'm rebuilding the engine. The help I need from everyone is figuring out what to do with the suspension. I want a mild lift but one that can support rolling 33's with good reliability.

I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. Id like to spend in the ball park of 2k. Also I don't want to go crazy and have to customize a ton of stuff in order to get there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

87 4runner.

:welcome: hey wassup. I'm new myself here, but your in luck. I think you don't need much. Lets see, my 4runner is sitting on add ah leaf (1") lift for the rear, fronts are still stock just got t-bar up for like ah 1" lift. Rancho shocks (front and back). But the last owner got ah 3" body lift. I'm rolling on 33x12.50x15 bfg mt on the back and old hankook dynapro mt in the front. Not too sure if that helped but it didn't cost much i wanna say for the cheap system on my runner. Plus i don't have SAS front.:noidea:

Awesome thanks very much. I've been doing some research but still don't know which direction to go. Doesn't seem like I have to do much though. Which is awesome. I'm going to go hit 4wheel parts this weekend and see what they say.

Remember that when you go 33's you would need to regear. Gotta have budget for that, too.

OME that KidV mentjoned ^^ is the properly engineered and tested mild lift for for the first-gen.
Gotta think hard/research about Ball-Joint Spacers or OME upgrade torsion bars for front, because there has been debate about safety of BJ spacers. Search "Ruined adventures" and "Defrag / aka Home on the Highway". They have put their OME's through the paces driving from the U.S. all the way to Patagonia.
