NFAB / rock rail owners

I am searching for some photos of an SR5 with NFAB's and either removed or trimmed skirts. I have found a few photos with them removed, but if you have them post them up anyway. I have not found any with trimmed skirts, which is what my plan is if I run these. Also, feel free to post up rock rails if you have them, skirts trimmed or removed.Thanks in advance, you guys are awesome!

I have trimmed rockers with nfabs. If you look in LIFTED PICS there are some in there. Not sure how close up you need tho.

Just saw a new thread yesterday with new shrockworks and trimed rockers, if i see it i'll link it here. looks like the process is pretty simple.

I also remember seeing somewhere that shrockworks was working on a replacement rocker panel for the SR5/Limiteds so that their rails will fit.

Ya I saw that. I would rather have a trimmed rocker panel than the black metal they are using though.

I am at a loss on doing the Shrockworks or NFAB steps. Both act as a step but the NFABs will be done with one miscalculation. I do not currently do anything too crazy, but I have changed things up a time or two so it would seem cheap insurance to prepare for that.

Agreed the Nfabs or any other step or board will be easily crushed, sliders are the only way to go for rocker protection.

Thanks for the link. I checked out Demello's site and they do not have the 2010+ listed. I also sent an email to BudBuilt to find the lead time on the kickout model. Would make a nice step for my three year old.

Thanks Brockeverly for creating this thread. I am in the same boat and it's surprising how difficult it can be in searching to find pics of just one detail like the trimmed rocker panels.

A general question to those who have cut their rocker panels, how much do you cut off? I've read some threads that stated they cut 2.25" from below the chrome strip, and others that stated cutting only 0.25" from below the chrome strip. Assume this is for sliders, or something coming directly off the frame.

My N-Fabs will be on my front porch tomorrow afternoon.

The only reason I have decide to go this route is due to my 6 yr old and my 85 yr old father in-law. They are already having a difficult time climbing in.

Last week I decided to trim the rockers....... But after seeing the replacement piece from Shrockworks, I am pretty sure that's how I am going to go. Plus I can always slap the rockers back on if I was going to trade it in.

But Shrockworks better hurry up or I am going to design something for myself.

BudBuilt bump out sliders with tread plating and you're done. Functional protection and still acts as a step for the wife and kids. You also won't have to worry about someone denting your door in a parking lot unless their truck is taller than yours.

FWIW regarding trimming the rocker panels...

My 4r came with the factory steps in addition to the Limited rocker panels. I sold the steps to someone on the forum and just completely removed the rocker panels about 8 or 9 months ago. Felt like getting a 4" lift.

It looks a little unfinished without rocker panels, but I've gotten used to it. I would like to do the full TE conversion that Harper did but that's a lot of coin at the moment. I noticed that Okki was able to replace only the front fender flares & rocker panels - I'm thinking of doing that now as an intermediate step. The Limited/SR5 rockers are just too big & gawdy.

I don't have sliders yet - getting my OW 2.5" lift tomorrow & tires/wheels are next. Will probably do the TE rockers after that along with the BudBuilt sliders.

Do the SW give you plenty of space for a step? I am wanting the BB kick outs but have yet to order until I hear back from Bud that he is caught back up, but I can have Shrocks with the third support beam and powdercoat for less than the BB (shipping costs are dramatically different)
