Nitto Ridge Grappler?

Sitting pretty

Ok done! Wow ride was better than i thought it would be. Got the toytec boss ultimate lift, no rubbing highway, street driving. Depending on what psi i choose ride was smooth at 40psi. And center caps are a must for me. FN Wheels are perfect fit 17x 8 zero offset 4.5 backspacing. Took mud flaps off beforehand but ill test them back on. I removed my spydertrax spacers from above pic before install.

Here's a straight front view

Magnetic4R how are you liking the change in tires? I'm also debating going from my 285 KO2's to 285/70/17 C ridge grapplers.

I'm happy with how my ko2's ride, but I've always thought they were a little on the small side so I want to go slightly bigger but I do worry about rubbing issues.

Do you have any full side shots of either or both tires on your rig?

Here's my 4Runner. What do you think?

Can't really say as I haven't gotten around to mount it. I don't see a gain in going to the "C" as you're not really saving much in weight vs the added protection the "E" gives on the trail. Oh, I hate how the BF looks so small but if you have a UCAs the Ridge Grappler shouldn't but an issue based on my current setup but I won't know for sure until it's mounted. Here's what it should look like.

That looks pretty sweet! Unfortunately I didn't get UCA's with my kit. I'm running 3" boss lift, with 17x8.5" wheels zero offset and a 1" wheel spacers. I'm really close to the body mount right now, but it has never rubbed it. It only rubs the front fender liner in reverse at full lock.

As much as I want those tires, I'm scared to open up that can of worms. Tires is one cost, but if it leads to needing UCA's and a BMC that's a whole nother game haha.

I'll wait and see how they fit on yours first =)

At 3" lift you should really consider getting UCAs, as for BMC, I got about > .75" clearance which should be enough to clear. The liner will have to be push further out.

I have the same spec wheels and 3"lift, there is no rubbing at all with mine but vehicles are different in their own way. sometimes the spacers contribute to the rubbing which is why i took off my spydertrax first and never needed them back on. I reinstalled my mud flaps and no rubbing. hope this helps. Got my tires from Newegg.com free ship/no tax. still 243.00 as of today 285/70/17 C rated. or 238.00 BBwheels online.

Not arguing, just curious, but why do you recommend it? When I purchased my lift, the toytec rep actually told me I don't really need UCA's for 3" or less.

Was I misinformed?

Technically, you don't need UCAs to run their lift, or most other lifts but where they come into play is when you are dialing in the alignment. Aftermarket UCAs may offer some additional clearance from the tire and coilover vs OEM UCAs but not always.

Inside look. Plenty of room. Just got back giving it a full tight turn torture test and found that i get rubbing on front fenter during hard incline turns, little trimming and no more worries. It will clear everything now. Test your gear sometimes its easy fix. SPC upper control arm. Remember my wheel size is 17x8 . 0 offset. 4.5 back spacing FN six shooters.

Did't need to trim much. It was mostly the tip end. Easy fix. Wheel turned at point of contact, under actual turn it rubs. Didn't find this out during normal driving and turns.

Don't want to get off topic here but in short, you don't have to have it but UCAs allows for better alignment, track better, provide better tire clearance, allows for better articulation and reduce the wear on UC ball joint to name a few. You'll find alot on this topic on this forum which can help you decide if you want or need it.

Just had these tires installed last night on a Pro with the 2" Toytec lift. Love them so far. What pressure are you guys running with the C's? I don't have extra weight on this thing (yet), so wasn't sure if I should running a higher pressure as compared to the suggested 32 psi on the sticker. Thoughts?
