No. 1 idler pulley replacement

Has anyone replaced their No. 1 idler pulley?

I just did the two No. 2 and those were easy, but the No. 1 idler at the bottom has the oil filter bracket in front of it. An offset box wrench with a cheater bar would get it off, but my torque wrench won't fit.

The 4th gen diagram (https://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/152196-idler-pulley-replacement.html) is the same, except they don't have the oil filter bracket in the way.

My only concern is getting the replacement idler back on at the correct torque. Am I over thinking this or is there a tool that I'm missing?

I did mine. Used a regular wrench. I think it might have even been a 3/8” ratchet even? I just tightened it tight but not over tight. I didn’t need a cheater but I am a larger (240 lb.) dude who has been wrenching for 25 years so I got dem wrench muscles. I believe I did it from the top if I recall correctly. I think I probably used gloves to protect the hands though.

30k or so later, it’s still just fine.

Thanks for the data point! I'll go with hand torqued then.

I can't even get my regular socket to fit on the bolt, it's just a regular Craftsman ratchet and socket set. Box wrench it is!

Looks like the belt direction of travel will only tighten the bolt, hopefully.
