No-name GPS??

I did some searching and came up with nothing so that was my first bad sign but anyways, does anyone have experience with these??


Toyota 4RUNNER 03-09 GPS Navigation Radio G6 Model | OttoNavi

They sell one for the Tacoma thats seems to be popular on TN. The 4runner one can be found on ebay for $400 (tho on ebay it says its for a Scion TC, both 4runner and TC use the same part #). That seems a bit cheap, which is another bad sign but I'm not looking for studio quality sound, just some navi and video intergration with no worse that stock sound quality.

I don't know what do y'all think??

I wouldn't do it if you want nav and can't afford a decent unit I'd get a handheld.

I looked at those and came very close to pulling the trigger on one but I read some bad reviews about the nav and user interface. I can't really be more specific as it's been a WHILE but if you search around you should be able to find the same info I did. Either way I ended up saving up and going with Kenwood with garmin (on clearance) because I've read that some of the no-name nav systems aren't very reliable.

Another thing to consider is how map updates are handled with the 'no-name' units. With most portable units, they either come with lifetime map updates, or you can purchase lifetime updates for less than $100.00. Most in-dash units require a CD/DVD to install the map updates, and can you be sure that the company will still be around in 2-3 years?

I just liked the combination of touch screen and actual buttons, seems more OEM and more my style. Are there any aftermarket units like that or are they all either full touch screen or no touch screen??
