05 LTD came over to day to install his lift i found a write up on another forum about how to swap over springs with out a compressor... and it worked fantastic way safer than them scary ass ones you can rent we did this for ome 882s

ya id get a pickle fork for the tie rod ends my beating on them method end up costing us time

I just replaced my tie-rod ends. Hope the boot doesn't get damaged when I remove it.

I cut the shock off of the spring on my stock struts to get the top plate off...and the above procedure seems rather questionable to me! :hiding:
Do some work with a phone book and you can find a shop that will assemble your struts for $30.

You can rent a tie rod puller for a small deposit (you get it back with the return) at Auto zone. Its soo perfect i kept it. The deposit was $12

I was thinking of doing that. I have the fork, but I know the puller will get the tie rod out without damaging anything..whereas the fork probably won't.

Were you beating the knuckle where the tie rod goes through? That method has yet to fail for me, sometimes it just takes a little bit bigger hammer

You dont beat on the actual tie rod, where the tie rod goes through the knuckle is where you want to beat, on the side of the knuckle.

Hmm the side of our knuckle is a bit smaller than that but I'm going to try it regardless.

Yeah its a little smaller but its the same principal, works every time for me :bigok:
