I have LR UCAs and Icon extened travel up front. It is now making a horrible creaking noise at first thought it was UCAs had those re greased still there could it be the Icons? It sounds kinda like creaking-knocking spring kinda noise and it does it even going over the bump into the garage any help would be wonderful.

How long has the suspension been in? Do you still have your front sway bar in? Did you use the spacers for the sway bar? Be sure those bushing are lubed up well, that is where I get my creaking from.

Close,
I'd like to know as this is the setup I'm looking at.
I know you had UCAs lubed up but you said something more than squeaking-binding/spring like?:lookout:
I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.

Glad to see you started a thread on this!! :)

Post some pics of your install. Include both upper and lower strut mounts, upper control arm, upper ball joints, the sway bar mounts and relocating bracket for the sway bar. On the lower strut mount be sure we can see the spacers on either side of the strut.

This seems to be more that just the squeak/creak you asked me about.

I am not sure if the Icon's have heim joints like Overland Warehouse/Radflo. My OW 2.0's creaked really bad, and it ended up being dirt particles in the heim joints. Once I realized what it was, I kept the joints lubed up with some Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector, and the creaking didn't come back.

It all looks good to me. Anyone else seeing anything that would make you think creaky clunk? Only thing I can't make out is the spacers in the lower strut mount, the longer one should be toward the front. If not then the spring will contact the swaybar. You have regreased the uppers again you say? I've done mine twice also and they are creaking again too.

The Light Racing uca's are nice but the bushing/sleeve/washer design leaves a little to be desired! As I said in another post I felt the design had squeak written all over it.

Which side do you have the bigger bushing where the CO attaches to the lower control arm?
Do you have these spacers under the frame supports so the sway bar doesn't rub ?

So that should make diagnosing a little easier; you now know the precise area where contact is made. I would check everything in that circumference for rub marks. It looks like it's making pretty good contact so that should be fairly easy to spot. If anything, color in suspect areas with crayon and see where it's getting rubbed off. The color should make it easier to spot.

Are you only getting the creaking at when the wheels are turned? or also when going in a straight line?

Okki

I have a similar setup only with the Icon remote reservoir coilovers and the billet UCAs and my squeaking and creaking is so ridiculous it is embarrassing to drive in public. I expected a little squeaking now and then but not constantly. Heck even when my 4Runner is parked all I've gotta do is tug on the roof rack and it squeaks.

I initially thought it was coming from my uniballs which somehow became corroded even though they were sealed in the UCAs. Had both of those replaced and it still squeaked. Even though the Icon instructions say not to, I spray lubed the heim joints, uniballs and and any other pivot point I could and it still doesn't do a damn thing. I'm starting to wonder like you if it isn't the coilovers themselves.

I plan on regreasing everything in December when I finally get a garage again but if that don't work I may just say f*ck it and scrap the entire setup.

I am so glad I am not the only one with this. LR UCAs are sending me new bushing so next week that should be replaced and see if that helps almost to the point to take off the LR UCAs and go back factory to see if that helps the noise or not.
