Noisy hatch

I drive a 2008 4x4 4 runner. Has anyone had problems with the latch on the hatch? Mine have been replaced once after 2 years of the techs trying to decide what the noise was. I was told to lubicate the rubber around the hatch, keep the base of the hatch window free from dirt and to turn up the radio. I finally reached a tech that knew what he was doing. They replace the latch but now after 6 months, the same noise is back. I can open and shut the hatch and sometimes the noise stop unless the hatch gets loose again. Help.

We have and he came up with the latch making the noise. I would like to know why is it reaccurring.
I agree, the problem could be worse but it should not happen.

I had the same thing. Eventually they replaced the striker plate and motor, at a cost of more than $500. Now it is starting to rattle again. If you come up with a permanent fix, let me now.
