What's the difference between the Camburg "Non Adjustable" UCA and the Light Racing Adjustable UCA?

Can the Camburg Ball joint UCA be used on a 4Runner and with Icon Coilovers?

I ask because Wheelers Offroad states:

Ball-Joint Arm Specs: - Tubular chromoly upper a-arms*- Re-angled ball-joint to increase wheel travel over stock - Increase in positive caster geometry for better handling - Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings with thick inner sleeves*- Uses factory ball-joints and hardware*- Includes all necessary hardware - Stainless steel ABS line clamps - Powder coated gray finish
Notes:
These arms are designed to be used with stock unmodified spindles or Camburg performance lift spindles in conjunction with an approved 2"-3" lift bolt-in coilover. They were not designed to be used in conjunction with other suspension kits or spacer type kits.
Maximum wheel backspacing = 4.50"

Camburg seems to be more highly regarded generally so I'm thinking maybe I should go with these over Light Racing.

Pros and Cons?

Also has anyone here used the All Pro Dust Covers for 1" and 1.25" Uniball UCA's?

Think they help uniball UCA's go squeak free longer?

I really want Uniballs but I don't want to hear my wife complain if/when they start to squeak.

She drives the SUV more, and I can hear it already. "See this is why I didn't want you modding the car"

To answer your question, yes, the Camburgs can be used with your Icon suspension.

Food for thought...

Getting uni-ball UCA's really depends on what kind of off road experiences you plan to have. If you plan on doing some hard trails, then perhaps yes. If not, then why bother spending that money on something that is purely over kill.

The advantages are you do get more travel, but not as much as you might think. You are limited by the sway bar, the lower control arm hitting the bump stop and other factors. Unless you get ET shocks and remove the sway bar and get long travel suspension etc...Then again, why bother spending that dough on something you don't need.

I had uni-balls on my FJ, yes they squeak, and need constant attention for it. But it was good for that application as I used it off road quite extensively.

If you want to upgrade and have alignment adjustability, then the LR UCA's are the logical choice.

I'm talking about the Camburg Ball Joint UCAs, not the uniball ones.

Yes you were...

Yes, those will fit, as will any other UCA designed for this vehicle, no matter what suspension you have.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. Although I would think the LR UCA would offer more of a benefit in the alignment adjustability range.

I have a set of Total Chaos that have uniball ball joints and a set of LR UCA's .Ran the TC's til the squeak took daily lubing as the uniball bushing was worn out(bought them used) and then changed to LR's.

The both have nearly the same exact amount of travel as the LR's use a much bigger then stock ball joint to get more travel. I compared the travel when I swapped them out as I was curious and read and thought the TC's had more travel too.

Pretty easy to check as you just measure the amount of extension of the hub from the floor with the TC CO in full flex.I put other LR UCA on and measured again. The upper ball joint on the UCA is what determines your extension or downward flex, if your shock can extend far enough to keep up with it that is.If you don't have extended travel shocks you won't be able to get the extra travel anyways and your shock will bottom out.

Check for yourself, because that is the only way to say one has more then the other, not by what other people say on the internet. I'm getting new uniballs and rebuilding my TC's and going to swap them back out and will take pics showing the extensions.I also happened to compare the stock UCA's to the TC's when I put them and you get about an 1-1 1/2" more down travel then stock with the TC's/LR's.

That being said...I havn't compared Camburgs to LR's and who is to say they get more without actual comparing? When they advertise more travel ,they are comparing them to stock UCA's .Do the Camburgs get more travel then the TC's? Icons?

"Camburg seems to be more highly regarded then Light Racing." ???More highly regarded by whom. I know of far more people running LR's and have no problems with them. They don't have the bling but they are well designed and they just work great and at a great price.
