You can have both... sort of. I have to suggest against having control of the I-Pod through the head unit. The reason being is because it won't be a simple process like using an aftermarket radio. I suggest either the VAIS technology unit to give you the factory Sirius control and then an AUX input to use for your ipod. The other suggestion would be using a USA Spec unit so that it charges your ipod while giving you the choice of controlling the ipod via the ipod or by the stereo. This unit also has an AUX input that you could use as an input for a portable sirius unit.
