having fun

Might be closed due to bridge needs fixed. Haven't looked on there site yet.
I sent you a PM I think regarding the used oem suspension!? Did you not get it?
Was a fun day. Although... That festival was probably fun too...
FWIW, there was about 2-4feet of snow when we went 2 weeks ago.
Hopefully you guys don't get kicked out like we did. The guy apparently took pics of some of our trucks and threatened to call the police...? Or something along the lines of that... Calling -joshua.
Yeah the gentleman manning the snowplow took pics of the plates (old plates now that I've gotten my legacy plates in..:biggrin1on my truck and a couple rigs behind me, informing us that he would be forced to share our info with the Forest Rangers (hefty fine) if we decided to proceed with riding the trail. He informed us that the trail was closed during the winter season and only snow mobiles were allowed on the trail.
In doing some research it looks like this checks out, however it looks like it only lasted until March 31st.
I think someone should call to verify to see if Bowman is in fact open. The link you posted said it was updated in 2016..
The campgroundis open, but Bowman Road is closed... It should be open since it's past March 31, but I wonder if they're going to close it for storm damage...:noidea::noidea:

Website says it’s open
I believe Bowman Road is closed where the bridge washed out last winter... not a seasonal closure... but a damage closure... so it'll be closed till repaired (if its repaired).
Attached pic is from last August when I was in the area...
Yeah, this...
The website for the campsite or the Forest Service site for the road? There are other roads into the camp site... so I'd expect that the campsite will get opened (if it is not already).
With the recent snow and rain combined with the expected rain up there this week... I would expect the seasonal closures to still be in effect. I cannot find out for sure online... so I will try to call today if I can ...
Looks like I missed some fun...
Had to do some adulting in Murphy's this weekend so I wasn't able to make it.
That being said, I did find time on Saturday to check out the Pourhouse as recommended by rochmpr... liked it so much that I went back Sunday for another beer and sandwich. Thanks for the recommendation Krister:thumb:
And I found a little time to explore in Arnold a bit and test out my new tire cover.
So if bowman doesn’t work out does anyone have any suggestions? Please keep in mind it is a Sunday and I don’t want to spend ALL day driving lol. MET? Snows gone so the trails are open.
Check out this map.. https://www.fs.fed.us/r5/webmaps/SierraSnowDepth/
not sure how accurate this is but it says Blackwood Canyon Trail has points with over 100 inches of snow cover still..... not saying I'm not down to try but I've had my fair share of snow wheeling this winter already :thumb3:
I'll keep an eye on it and we can get out there in a few weeks. Let me know what happens this weekend as well.

Still thinking of going towards Arnold?
Saturday would be a bit easier to go wheeling, than Sunday.

I think bpchura mentioned Blackwood Canyon trail(I think was the name) way back.
There's also an abandoned mine? Ski resort? Something... That Folsom4Rnr told me about a few months back.
Then a few trails near doner pass.

Feel free to wheel up to my place and grab a rake!I'll have cold beers!
Otherwise, I'll be at the Lube Room for dinner and drinks.
I called ranger stations in Tahoe and El Dorado National Forests and both are still under seasonal road closures this weekend (TNF till May 1 per the ranger). Note - MET and trails in that area are part of the EDNF... including the abandoned ski resort at Iron Mountain off HWY88.
I havent looked... but I would suspect the Stanislaus National Forest has similar restrictions... ... if someone can call the Ranger Station and confirm trails are open and can pull together the details and a group for Sunday Im sure I could make it down ... (but I cannot make Saturday tho - have prior commitments).
