Norcal: Hello T4R from a long time Toyota fan

My wife and I decided it was time to upgrade our 09 Escape to something with a bit more room, comfort and ability. I grew up with Toyota's so it was a simple decision. Here's how much of a Toyota family we are:

- 1981 Toyota Celica/Supra- mom's first car
- 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80- Dad's truck which still runs today with 316,xxx miles.
- 1988 Toyota Celica- my first car when I started driving in '99 - donated
- 1995 Toyota Supra NA Auto- first real car for me - sold
- 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo- Widebodied and turbo'd aka JDMR2 - sold
- 1985 Toyota Corolla GTS- Zenki Coupe - sold
- 1987 Toyota Corolla GTS- Kouki hatch - sold
- 2001 Toyota bB - aka bBOXD - sold
- 2000 Lexus GS300 - Airruner with work wheels - sold

In short, I LOVE TOYOTA's! So, we decided on a 2011 Limited 4x4 black/black. We were more then happy about the amount we got for our Escape as a trade in, along with the leverage of buying the last 2011 model on the lot.

The truck now has about 300 miles and I've already got a bunch of parts on their way. It's quite hard not to get mod crazy with the amount of aftermarket that is available for the 5th 4R. Definitely excited to get into some mild off roading as i've always been interested. Sorry for the rambling but I'm just really excited about this truck, here's the pics.

I've got the aFe intake waiting to be installed along with some steel craft nerf bars. Hopefully I can get that stuff installed soon. I also have some new rims and tires on the way.

Congratulations, and welcome! You sound like me with your Yotas, only for me it was Hondas--Civics, Accords, Integra, Legend (Acura IS a Honda, of course)--had a bunch! Have fun with your new Toy!

What type of aftermarket stuff did you order? Just want to bounce some stuff off you that I may have missed. I put on a Stubby antenna, door edge guards, crossbars with Yakima pads, LED upgrade from the guy on this forum(so_LED), bugdeflector 2, K&N air filter, and some stickers.

Welcome from just over the hill. Nice choice of 4runner and cars. I'm part of a Toyota family as well. We only have one vehicle not a Toyota out of the 7 cars in the family. I'm on my 5th Toyota.

So far I've got steelcraft nerf bars to make it easier on the wife to get in and out of the truck, aFe intake, Husky mats to keep the interior clean, window visors. Mostly small items. I did order some 20" Addicts in black and now waiting on some 275/55 20 Nitto Grapplers to give the truck a wider stance.

Thinking about upgrading to HID's for both lows and fogs and possibly some kind of rack.

Not trying to do to much to it. I'm really just looking forward to hitting some trails in tahoe next week. Definitely starting with some beginner offroad trails.
