Norman, Oklahoma Bedliner Black 3rd Gen

Just a quick question about who might be driving around a nicely modded black 3rd gen here in Norman around campus.

It's black with the lower 65% of the body or so that has been covered in black bedliner, and it has a red T4r.com sticker on the rear passenger quarter window.

Just trying to figure out who it is! I also live in Norman, and I want to take a closer look at your rig for some inspiration... :high5:

Are you the guy who works out on country club? Silver with FJ rims and the T4R.org sticker on the side?

Drove past there the other day and did a double take. Seen the 4Runner there several times but this time noticed the rims, sticker, and removed running boards.

That would be me. And I assume that is yours out west on the south side of 51. I actually pulled in your parking lot to take a closer look one day. And I can't take credit for the removed running boards, I bought it that way.

Nah, it looked nice. I get jealous every time I pass it and I pass it everyday. I may I have to meet up with you sometime and check it out.

I'm pretty happy with it, just never find time to wash it. Kinda bugs me. Well that and the backwoods pinstriping doesn't help when it is clean. Can't help that if you wheel in this part of the country.

We should meet up sometime. I'll keep you up to date if we get a wheeling day at Disney or something going.

Sounds good man. Mine only gets rinsed off every couple weeks but I've on had it a few months and I haven't had a chance to get it really dirty yet. I'd really like to do some work on my suspension before I take down anything other than the bunny slopes.

You might be surprised what your 4Runner can do stock with a decent set of tires. I wheeled mine a lot before I ever started into the mods.

Oh ya, I believe it can do it but my shocks and struts have about had all they can take. I just about have to wear a mouth piece driving down Lakeview and country club.

That's just Oklahoma roads for ya! Country Club is terrible!

My rear shocks were leaking. That was my excuse for the lift. The new suspensions has been pretty nice. It rides a lot better now.

I know that, born and raised an Oklahoman and lived in Stillwater since '06. And I'm always trying to find excuse to buy something. I'm kinda hoping we have a lot of ice this winter and somebody slides into my back and front bumpers so I can buy off-road bumpers.

Btw, fellow Oklahomies. Is there another place for a trail run that's similar to Gruber, but without all the red cedars giving custom pinstripes?

After just getting back from Colorado and living on those trails, it's just kindof hard to get excited to go muck-about and drive through trees. I'm still in the mood for undulating topography, hard-packed silt and gravel, rocks, and no clay.

I'm sure this all exists in Oklahoma somewhere. It just has to be discovered? :noidea:

Exactly, just enough to destroy the bumpers and not damage anything else... unless somehow it could also blow out my tires and they'll pay for a nice new set of duratracs.
