Nose Dive While Hard Braking!

I have put the Bilstein 5100 in front set at 3rd notch 1.75" lift with stock coils and the ride is much better in front (much less nose dive). I was thinking of adding FJ springs in back and Bilstein shocks, still trying to verify if the springs would give me about .5 lift in back. I think even just the new shocks would help the rear, but would like the .5 lift in back as of now with the 1.75" lift in front I have .25 higher in back.

Thanks John. That helps. You've got a similar setup to what I'm thinking about. I already put Revos on as well and like them a lot. I haven't been able to find any info. on people putting FJ cruiser springs on the 5th Gen. Has anyone done this and please provide comments on the lift that they provide.

I drove a few of them as well and would like to lesson the nose dive.One question-dont want to hijack this thread: John and others would you recommend this on a LE? Thinking about 275's and want to plan and have the lift info ready when I pull the trigger on the truck. TIA

What's your current mileage?

I have 2200 miles on my LE. And yes, I realize it sounds illogical when I say that the nose diving has improved and that it's likely I'm just getting used to it. But all new drivers who plop down 40K on a truck are going to be very in tune with subtle changes and I really think the nose diving is slightly less. In any event, even if it's just that I'm adjusting by more gentle braking, I'm much happier.

I am running the Bilstein setup in the front. I dont see a night and day difference in fighting the nose dive, but in all other aspects it was a big improvement (look, feel, performance, etc.) If your interested, im thinking of selling mine and opting for new coilovers...

PM if anyone is interested in getting my stock fronts with the Bilstein's already installed. 7k miles on 'em.

the nose dive can be easily fixed by replacing the front coils and shocks, I'm partial to OME, and YES lift coils do make your truck corner better. They're stiffer and keep the truck planted better than the spongy stock components. Spaces do do compress the coils (except top plate spaces) however they ride like ass compared to an actual coil setup. Top plate spaces dont put any pre load on the coils but are hard on the ball joints.

You won't be able to put the Bilstein 5100's on a LE unless you change out all the shocks. The factory X-Reas shocks are tied together hydraulicly from front to back. The left front shock is connected to the right rear and right front is connected to the left rear with reservoirs in between.
