Not another exhaust question... a request!

I have an '12 SR5 and have the good ol' egg smell... yes i know how to search forums so my question is not about that, well not directly...

My question/request is: can someone who has put a 90 elbow on their exhaust please post a pic? I want to see how it looks both from side and the back... if it didnt have the cut out in the lower bumper valance I would have welded on a new tailpipe day 2. However, I dont want it to look bad since there will be a "hole" from the missing rear tip.

Additionally if you have done this can you chime in on its effectiveness I have read the 4th gen'ers are reporting improvements and minimum and fix at best so logic says 5th gen will yield similar results.

BUMP I have seen the trail 5th gen but not a regular one... surely someone has done this!

Thanks, I saw his write up and its what I am planning on doing. I am just concerned about my cutout in the bumper since I do not have a trail....

I have been here awhile and I don't recall any SR5 or LE's getting this done. You will be the first here I think.

Thats what i was afraid off... guess I can always weld it back if I dont like it... just wish there wasnt that cutout...

I put my Borla on last week and was going to reroute the tail pipe, but once you see it mounted you really notice how much clearance you lose. So I just stuck with the OEM routing and deal with the smell... If you had a swing out rear bumper with more ground clearance it shouldn't be an issue.

Thats a good point I will have to mock it up and see, though I am not overly concerned about it, the T4R doesnt go off road really, thats what my Tundra is for (which does not have bumper clearance issues)!

Has anyone else with a Limited rerouted the exhaust out the side? I've searched but haven't been able to find anything. Guessing we're all thinking the same thing with the pre-cut hole in the back of the bumper...

I believe that Limited and SR5 have have the pre-cut hole in the bumper, and Trails don't. Pic isn't mine, but this is what it looks like.

I don't understand why you care so much what that really obscure spot looks like. So there's a cutout there - so what? If the exhaust smell bothers you so much - fix it, move on.

Or, weld a false chrome tip in there, AND move it - who'll know?

I had the muffler cutout and a Mangaflow installed. At the same time I had a 90 deg bend done on the tailpipe. I looks better, but only slightly helps with pushing the smell far enough away when the back window is down.
