What's the point of jumping onto someone's thread to criticize them for posting something that bugged them? Read it and move on if you don't like it. There are a crap ton of posts where people want to put spacers on their wheels, add LED bars, change the color of their headlights, etc. because they think it looks cool. I don't jump on their threads and tell them they are stupid for wasting their time and money on useless, non-functional modifications.

Have you ever been pressed for time with too many things to get done, wife and kids in tow with their expectations of what needs to get done, the place is about to close and you have to make a split decision that you regret later?

Same experience with Costco for me for the past 10 years of membership. This has been my first negative experience and it was also my first time utilizing their tire center. I wanted to get people's opinions of their experiences to figure out if it was an isolated event or more common than I realize.
Sorry man. It's been a bad couple of days with family and work stuff. I'm a little overly-sensitive.
The most interesting thing about this thread to me is how much attention and number of responses I've been getting. It took me a couple minutes to write something up and whine about it and it has gotten a lot of attention. I also posted another thread the same day that took me 20 minutes to organize and write, then a bunch of pictures detailing my experience with what seems to be a common failure: brake hydroboost motor/pump/accumulator. It will hopefully help a bunch of people who aren't willing to spend thousands of dollars to have the dealer or their independent shop replace the entire brake master cylinder/ECU/solenoid assembly. And yet it hasn't gotten any kind of response. How's that for whining?

Costco is awesome. Got a piece of gravel in one of my F150 tires, poked an unrepairable hole in it. They didn’t make those tires anymore. After the prorating and a tire upgrade I paid $250 for a brand new set of 4 tires. They refused to put an oddball tire on.

I believe there was a misunderstanding. What people don't know is that those sensors have a self sealed battery with a limited life span (5-8yrs) our fourth gens are well above that. So usually if one is dead then the others are on their way. So they didn't communicate well enough that you should replace all five (5th one being the spare) to save the trouble of repeated stops to replace the sensors. So in the long run you would be spending that amount or searching the forums for the bypass.

The tire shop manager was there when I went back. I got the spare mounted and balanced like I had wanted. I didn't press the issue with the Tire Pressure Sensors.

For a while they stopped, not sure if they just ran out by the time I stopped by or really stopped selling on purpose then brought them back due to demand.

This, or as I did, just do the bypass. When I recently bought new wheels and tires a few months back, I had considered getting new sensors since my system still worked. Fortunately about month before I was able to get everything ordered, the light came on, and stayed on regardless of pressure on all of the tires, so I opted to just save the $200 on sensors and keep it simple. I did the jumper wire method and didn’t cut anything, so a return to a functioning system would be no issue at all if I ever wanted to, but I’ve always made a habit of keeping an eye on tire pressures anyway, so for me it wasn’t a necessary function. I do agree that for most ladies, young drivers, or those that don’t notice such things it is a great safety feature though.

I've always had a (obsessive?) habit of checking tire pressure that I got a TPMS scanner to check tire pressure. This enables you to check the PSI without taking a valve cap off (or getting in the vehicle). Folks who upgrade to a flat screen with ODB2 get the PSI active on the screen, this includes for the spare tire.
I do agree, my old back isn't like what it used to be... being able to check tire pressure (and wheel temp) from the seat warmer has it's benefits.

Costco ended up ruining 10 wheel studs on mine because the cross threaded the lug nuts. It ended up costing $350 to have fixed. Thankfully they reimbursed me for it later on. I don’t suggest using Costco to mount the wheels.
