Not very pleased with Costco tire center

How coool would it be to use a tpms scanner in a head unitscreen (in dash aftermarket unit)?

i think only the newer year 4runner can do that 06+ , check out idatalink maestro for more info, it was something to do with our canbus being high speed.

Which TPMS tool/scanner are you using?

Autel TS501, it also uploads to the ECU, updated to included 2018 vehicles.
I have been using Denso sensors with no issues.
Dill sensors were mounted on my current wheel set from Discount Tire, with no problems communicating with the T4R or the Autel.

Comes in handy when managing a "family fleet" of vehicles, or wheel swapping.

As much as I like Costco, when it comes to rims and tires, I am a Discount Tire / Americas Tire kinda guy.

Costco is always so packed and any savings are easily dissolved by the volume inconvenience of people.

Discount Tire has always taken very good care of me. On top of that, they match Costco pricing.

I've always had a (obsessive?) habit of checking tire pressure that I got a TPMS scanner to check tire pressure. This enables you to check the PSI without taking a valve cap off (or getting in the vehicle). Folks who upgrade to a flat screen with ODB2 get the PSI active on the screen, this includes for the spare tire.

I do agree, my old back isn't like what it used to be... being able to check tire pressure (and wheel temp) from the seat warmer has it's benefits.

Thanks, and ordered on Amazon. Not too bad in price, another tool that will probably pay for itself in the first use or two.

I have two sets of rims and tires, now I can actually get the benefit of TPMS even when I swap.

Seems very convenient even for pressure check. I like it.

Costco ended up ruining 10 wheel studs on mine because the cross threaded the lug nuts. It ended up costing $350 to have fixed. Thankfully they reimbursed me for it later on. I don’t suggest using Costco to mount the wheels.

That sucks, but that really can happen anywhere. 1 dude messed up. It happens. It's not fair to trash an entire company because of an isolated incident. Also it says something that they reimbursed you. That probably would not have happened at every place.
