November 2015 Meet and Trail Run

I might be able to go, ill see what things look like in a day or two. anyone know if fires are allowed up there? if my girl has the weekend off, I would probably be down to camp.

They are pretty strict with fires up here since the devastation of 2007 so no camp fires are allowed outside of the campgrounds and I believe this weekend is the last open camping dates.

Even the campgrounds were not allowing fires this year for a majority of the summer.

I might just rent a cabin up in Big Bear and stay the weekend up there. And meet up with you guys on Saturday morning.

Yeah I'm on the fence on what I'm going to do. Might be too cold to camp for my son, even with a fire, and I'm not looking to impose on GVL (again, because of my wild child) Driving up Friday night makes it easier to get the kid moving in the morning at 8 on Saturday rather than 630 to drive up the mountain. I'll probably just keep an eye on the weather next week before I make a decision.

Appreciate it, I just don't know how he'd do, he's pretty apprehensive about strangers and strange environments. We used to travel a lot when he was smaller, but after the ex and I split that all changed and he was young enough to control. It's been almost 4 years since I've had the means financially to get out and about so all this traveling is new for him and he tends to forget how to act outside of the house. We're making progress though.

Not necessary for first 3/4(guesstimate)of it but it will be a huge advantage headed east of 3N11. Below is Kanger328 from our November '14 run. This section is steep. It was starting to snow sideways!

Gonna see what the weather does next week/following week then I'll probably start looking. I get paid next Friday so I can't book anything until then anyhow. I think the kiddo might enjoy an entire weekend out. He already told me he wants our next camping trip to be two days instead of just one because he had so much fun in Joshua Tree this past weekend.

4LO with ATRAC you'll be fine. All I have is this and made it through just fine with a few tries due to it being kinda wet. Here is some photos from that trip. Don't mind the 2 last pics, that was a trail we added on after white mtn.

I would do the hill just wont do any crazy rock crawling... Hopefully wont scrape too bad ... I have no skid plates other than the factory Trail ones...

I don't have any skids and I was fine. Looks like your lifted so you should be good.

The trail with the boulders is the east end of 3n93 leading to lower larga 2n06x. My first time on this trail I did it with just sliders. This is how I ended up with front and rear bumpers about a year later.

This run should be a good one. I'm planning to attend this run but can't confirm until it gets a little closer to the date.

Just got back from a little sunset cruise, this is a view from 2N13 which will be the route we take back to GVL - can't wait.

When we did white mtn a locker was not needed and no part of the trail was as difficult as the second more difficult half the October run.

There are a lot of rocks though and we did plenty of rock lifting and moving so that the open diff trucks with no sliders could go through worry free. Get your hands dirty!

This would be my first official T4R trip - it'll be good to meet all you guys finally!

Well I'm super stoked on this Nov.Meet & Run seeing how this will be my B-Day, and I couldn't think of a better way to spend the day wheeling with a bunch of fellow members in Big Bear on some fun and a couple potential (new to me) trails/runs that I have been wanting to do and explore.
Now to let my better half know what my plans are...and lets hope she didn't have any special plans made?!
Cause she's gonna need to cancel them!!

Sounds like it's going to be a pretty legit route and not too hard. I'm looking forward to something that's a bit less fire roadish, which is all I'm willing to try solo.
