November GVL/Big Bear Run

Im down. do you think ill have any issues in a lifted 2000 with a rear locker, and a/t's? i don't want body damage, but i consider myself pretty skilled off road. I'm also new to SoCal, and very unfamiliar with the trails in the area, so I have no clue what to expect as far as trail conditions, im from Washington and Im used to mud, rain, and tight forested trails. I hit wilmar the other weekend, and got pinstriped the hell out of my paint. I was at the most recent in n out meet also, so I hope to see some familiar faces, im sure I will.
 
Looks like I'm out:(. One of my dogs has a problem in one of his eyes and have to take him to a specialist on Saturday at 3:00. Don't think I can make it back in time from this run to make that appointment. Next time.
 
Sean and Les, sorry u can't make it. Next time fosho...

E-caban, the trails aren't super tight but they can be in a few spots. No mud tho. Without sliders it's possible u won't have any damage. Then again, no guarantees. You'll have spotters. Hope to see u there. :peace:

It shouldn't be a problem. There's only a slight chance. If anything it'll keep the dust down. It will be cold tho... The TV weatherman says it won't rain up there. My phone says 20% chance overnight Friday into Saturday morning.
 
Rain??? Man, that would make it so much more interesting (aka: fun). I tried to get out of going to this wedding on Sat...but can't. I'm looking forward to some great wheeling pics.
 
Hey guys, Keemo just pointed out this group run tomorrow. It's been beautiful up here in GVL and the fall colors are gorgeous right now. I have a wheelin' day already planned for Sunday, but maybe I'll take a quick spin with you guys for a portion of the ride.

I have been monitoring the weather closely up here and we have a good possibility of a couple/few inches of the white stuff tomorrow. These trails are super fun with some snow on them so don't let that keep anyone away - I've got my fingers crossed for some weather.

If you guys want to start the trip with a fun 1/2 mile come into GV and we'll go down Edison to Crab Flats Rd - much more fun than the first 2 miles of CF rd (signature photo is on Edison). :thumb:
 
Looks like I'll be heading out to south Borrego with a friend that has tomorrow off...

Every weekend, so many things to have to choose between doing :(

First desert trip of the season for me! And not been down south in uh... to many years to count. O.O
 
Just a suggestion, but someone should bring a chainsaw along for downed trees crossing the trail. We had some nasty wind storms in the spring and trees were all over the trail, some as big as 36" making it impassable, but a majority were in the 12-18" range and easily cut and dragged out the way with a recovery strap. Anyway, Im sure there are tons of trees that didn't fall but are ready to and this first snow of the year might be enough to topple them.

Probably wont need it, but sure is good to have if you do.

BTW - within the last couple hours it got really cold, windy and misty - definitely some weather coming in :thumb:
