November 20th, Sunday Meet
Description:
Easy trail run on Cleghorn trail going from the 15 Freeway to Silverwood Lake. After we hit the lake, everyone is free to break up to do other trails or head back down to Lytle Creek to do some shooting. Please be prepared for varying weather and enough food and water to last the entire day. We will need to meet at the Lytle Creek ranger station to buy adventure passes, which run $5. If I'm wrong about the adventure pass, please let me know. After the Ranger Station, we may have a few minutes to swing by McDonalds or grab some gas before hitting the trail.

Difficulty:
Low to Medium depending on weather damage.

If I can drive by than, I might be down on the 20th but the 13th might work out better for me... That is if I can drive, I fractured my ankle ... I am near Yoruba Linda ..
 
Been looking forward to joining you guys on one of these, but only available on Sundays. So I'm down for the 20th.
I'm in the OC if anyone was curious.

Okay guys, this meet will get us together before the holidays, I figure we'll all be too busy to meet in December. The only weekend I have off in November is the 19th-20th, so I'm hoping its convenient for everyone. I'll try to check this thread at least every other day so there isn't a break in communication like last month, again, sorry about that I was having computer problems.:smashputer:

Just a heads up that this might be a snow run so make sure to watch the weather and bring chains. Big Bear and San Jacinto got snow last weekend and are both scheduled for more this weekend.

Stick Figure - All of the last 3 runs were well within my comfort zone (Bee's Canyon, Pilot Rock, Clark's Grade) . I'll bust out the forest service maps tomorrow and try to piece something together.

Donny - I'm sure it was just a typo, but the majority is saying Nov 20th.

If it turns into a snow run most people usually stick to the easier trails. Some suggestions.

5S15 to 6S13 Rouse ridge Road to Thomas Mtn Road
7S02- Santa Rosa Springs to Toro Peak
Both of above are in the San Jac area

More difficult but still lower moderate
3N61 Jacoby Canyon to 3N16 Northeast Big Bear
Easier
3N16 from Green Valley Lake to Fawnskin

Most of those are green trails but when you had heavy rain or snow it makes them a lot more challenging.. I am still hoping to make the run but not sure if I am traveling that weekend or not

Theres not really much snow in big bear now. It mostly melted off this last week and this weekend didnt really have much weather up there. We ran john bull last saturday in about 8-10" of snow and it was slippery, But I went with some newer wheelers yesterday up on gold mountain and there was no snow at all on the front side, and just small patches on the shady back side.

As of this weekend i would say all the trails are about normal. Maybe a little wet in places, but the higher traffic roads like 3n16 are dry


If you all end up going to the big bear/ arrowhead area i may go. Of if you do a cleghorn/pilot rock run i may show up.
 
Jmoney- was just throwing some ideas out there for him to think about. I was up in BigBear all weekend and yeah it snowed at night but was melted by lunch. I am sure what ever he puts together will be a good run.
 
yep im sure its will have a good turn out. ill watch and see whats up but it looks like ill be out in calico wheeling on the 19th/20th
